when did this happen, when did Vince don the tights officially for the first time?  and what, if any, is considered his best match?

I just saw the Wrestlemania vs Hogan street fight, pretty bloody and violent with a ton of chairshots, table and ladder bumps etc.

Best match could either be the Hogan or Flair street fights. I liked both.

His first match was a non-match on Raw against Austin but Dude Love immediately interfered.  It was more of an angle to set up future PPV Vince vs. Austin matches.  Vince did absolutely nothing in that first one.

Ok, this might be a stretch but let me throw these results out there. It is common knowledge that Vinny wanted to be a rassler but The Elder wouldn't let him. It is also known that Vinny had his paws in promoting WWWF shows in New England since the early 70's.  Check this out.

July 6, 1972 - Nashua, NH - Bishop Guertin High School Gym (att. 1100)

Al Nelson W/DQ Tomas Marin

Mr. Fugi beat Pat McMahon

Gorilla Monsoon over Joe Nova & Juan Caruso

Tahiti Kid over Peewee Adams

WWWF Title Match:

Pedro Morales W/DQ Toru Tanaka

Was Pat McMahon actually Vinny Mac? I never saw this guys name again in any result from that era. Is it possible he would have thrown himself in on this show far away from Daddy's reaches? Did 19 Arab hijackers with boxcutters plan 911 from the grassy knoll or the Texas Schoolbook Depository?

Nah, Monsoon would have ratted him out. It's possible that he was a local jobber who they couldn't think of a name for, so they just pulled "Pat McMahon" out of thin air.

That was rumored but is almost surely complete bullshit.  However Danny Davis did wrestle as Mr. X on the same shows he reffed many times before the heel ref angle in which he officially started wrestling.

I dont doubt it happened once or twice.  Why couldnt it?  The guy wants to, he owns the copmpany, why not.

That's part of the prob with wrestling "fans."  Everyone's "smart" and everything's bullshit.  Like anyone fucking knows.

I can see how the rumor would start, though. Vince McMahon and Danny Davis have similar physiques, hair color, etc.
