To make it easier on Vince and the WWE marketers, let's help them create a DVD for defining moments of the 1970's WWWF TV shows.   Vince is against marketing a bunch of 70's stuff, so it would just be easier to make on big compilation.

What highlights, clips, matches, etc. would you want to see on this DVD?

Here are some of my selections:

Arion turn on Strongbow and Sammartino

Arion shredding Strongbow's headdress.

The Valiants losing to Denucci & Rivera (all three falls)

The third Executioner match

Patera ending White Wolfe's career with the swinging neckbreaker

Maybe some others could start a thread like this for other territories, federations, etc.

We get them all posted up with feedback and then Claw and Beej can make it all look pretty, package it up and take it as a proposal to the WWE marketers.

WWWF 70s stuff I would love to see

Bruno & Pedro vs Fuji & Tanaka - Now I don't remember this but this is how they set up Bruno vs Pedro for Shea Stadium

TV announcing that Ivan Koloff had defeated Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF title. If there is even an interview somewhere with Koloff wearing the belt, I would want to see it.

The third Executioner thing is a no-brainer

A "Black Jacks" title defense even if it is against scrubs

There are some Backlund WWF title Cage Match defenses that I would love to see how they came off (Graham, Koloff, Maivia)

All very good selections in my opinion.

Patera breaking Whitewolf's neck is readily available.  Well-played too!

If they had any footage of Koloff in his brief championship run, that would be gold.

Backlund vs. Maivia, only because we've never seen it. I'll bet when it airs, it's not that good.

Stan Stasiak as WWWF Champion!

The Mongols as tag champs.

Verne Gagne, Eddie Graham, Terry & Dory Funk, etc....all doing duty on the early 70's MSG cards.

The Destroyer (unmasked) wrestling Mascaras at MSG in 1972.

I don't remember if this was a "ringside" interview or one of those ones hyping the next house show (they undoubtedly ran this interview in every market)

Vince McMahon is interviewing Fred Blassie and Stan Hansen. Hansen's lariat-elbow pad is jarred and out comes a bejillion dollars in quarters.

I remember that also and like you don't recall if it was a Tv "Ringside" interview or local house show promo. I also remember a similar incident with Stan Stasiak where a silver dollar or something dropped out of his "Heart Punch" fist wrap. I want to say both happened as taped promo segments, since I don't remember a crowd, just Vinnie's reaction and the heels leaving. Would be nice to see again, unfortunately I doubt we ever will.

I thought it was ringside after a match.

There is no way that I would put a dollar on this bet, but didn't this occur around the time he clocked Denucci on the head during a TV match and busted him wode open?  Like I said, maybe not.

I think the DeNucci match was the second time around. Footage of Hansen's run from 76 for me as a WWWF fan I would just love to see.

I forget, did you get in on the Watts reels?  My copy from that is perfect, better than WWE's, which has a bunch of dropouts.

On another WWWF note, does anyone have the Ernie Ladd 24/7 HOF special recorded straight to DVD from TV?  The only copy I was able to find was a VHS conversion with a tracking line on the edge of the screen.  There's a GREAT interview with Vince & Ladd from the 1/17/76 episode of All-Star on there.
