Just picked up some discs of this from Khawk. Haven't watched it but from what I can tell this was the (GAgne's) AWA's "last gasp" for air.

Do any of you remember watching this as it all unfolded? Did Sgt Slaughter's team win (Slaughter was in the WWF at the end of the series)

It actually isn't too bad of an idea although obvioussly it didn't pan out.

Larry's Legends won the TCS when Jake The Milkman Milliman eliminated Colonel DeBeers to emerge victorious in a Battle Royal.

Speaking of Milliman, Meltzer reports

--Jake "The Milkman" Milliman, now 61, teams with Frankie DeFalco to face the Heartbreak Express for the AWA tag titles tonight in Waukesha, WI at AMF Lanes

After Slaughter left the team's name was changed to "DeBeers' Diamondcutters"

I don't think the final battleroyal is on those discs. The darn thing went on for so long and was so insanely difficult to follow (never mind the bizarre matches) taht I gave up on trying to track it allon seperate tapes and just included a lot of the more relevant matches (not many, lol) near the end on my mixed tapes.

I would love to have seen a streamlined version of this done in, say, 1984, with the talent that was around at that point.

Right down the road from me. I go to see the "AWA" Brew City on occasion. Terrible....just terrible. Believe it or not, the Milkman is the best they have.

The TCS also gave us Benchwarmer Bob Lurtsema.

Good to see Vintage here. Love that avatar.

Yeah I mean the AWA is clearly not very good at this time but it did "add a little" to random matches that now had "points" involved with them.
