1970s. I believe goes back to the 1960s although I'm not sure as I imagine quite a few people worked as "The Golden Terror".

Clyde Steeves. All I have seen of him was as a midcarder (mid 1970s WWWF managed by Captain Lou Albano) some Mid-atlantic matches and back in the WWWF in the late 1070s this time completely and totally as a "preliminary guy"

Where else did wrestle? How about championships he held? I found him to be quite charismatic and enjoyed his antics.

Looks like his success was in the 1960s. When did he retire anyway?

Couldn't find anything. He died 6/30/01 at the age of 74

Wasn't there a "Golden Terror" who was a TV job guy in Mid-Atlantic/TBS? This would have been in the mid-80s.

There was.  I'm pretty sure it was job guy Ben Alexander under the mask.

Yeah, I've been watching a lot of mid-80s JCP lately.  The Golden Terror is almost definitely Alexander.  I actually saw tape of him wrestling as both the GT and Alexander last night. I believe it is the same man.

Didn't Pete Doherty put the mask on as the Golden Terror as well?

    Yep, as did Davey O'Hannon.

I think Golden Terror WWWF 77 w/Albano was Doherty.

I think the crazy antics we saw with the GT running up and down the outside of the ring was Doherty.  O'Hannon probably used the gimmick along with Doherty the next year or two.

Look at this link.  Scroll down and you will another Golden Terror along side O'Hannon with a note attached about the Golden Terror idea in the early 70's.
