Reported by Adam Martin of Wrestleview.com

Mike Mooneyham of The Post & Courier has a new interview up with Ring of Honor star Colt Cabana talking about CM Punk dropping his name on Monday Night Raw this past week.

“He’s worn my shirt before doing commentary. He doesn’t care anymore, and he’s looking out for his buddies. He mentioned Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar — two guys Vince knows very well. He also mentioned a little-known wrestler from Chicago named Colt Cabana. Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar weren’t trending on Twitter worldwide, but Colt Cabana was.

Hopefully this promo was revolutionary in terms of maybe making them recognize that his real feelings will bring them so much attention. Hopefully that will open some eyes and open some doors for wrestlers like myself and Zack Ryder to get a better opportunity using real-life situations. We said that wrestling needs some kind of spark. And you never know where it’s going to come from. Thank God it was from an unscripted promo. It wasn’t from some writer telling Punk what to do. It was unscripted, live television, and I hope this has the ability to turn wrestling around if done right. I hope they go the right way with it.”

I like Colt and I wish he had been given a fair chance in WWE, but he's being delusional and markish here.  Hopefully I'm wrong but I don't see real change coming out of this.

Didn't see any after Joey Styles and Paul Heyman had promos in a similar vein. I loved those promos and agreed with what was being said much like the Punk promo. I so wanted to believe they would cause change but they didn't.  All they did was allow the die hard fans that lament the loss of what wrestling once was a chance to feel vindicated because by God someone told Vince how we felt.

At the end, Cabana says: "I hope this has the ability to turn wrestling around if done right. I hope they go the right way with it."

I don't see how he was being either delusional or markish.

Isn't or wasn't one of Punk's sticking points in his contract renegotiation that Cabana get a main roster spot?

I don't know if it was a negotiation point but I can tell you that Colt and Punk are best friends having traveled the midwest together from show to show for several years, so it wouldn't surprise me

Meltzer has reported this, but he also said that most of Punk's demands are intentionally outrageous because he really doesn't want to come back and is hoping WWE doesn't accept.  Of course, who knows if he's being worked.

Hey more power to Punk, if WWE were to cave to his demands and get him what he wants, thats great

If he is only doing this to make WWE know he isn't interested in re-signing, more power to him on that as well.

I can't wait for his first interview when he leaves WWE if he is leaving, he made his money now its time to do what he wants when he wants
