Beastia Salvaje died today of liver disease.  His last match was in January and he had been gravely ill since then.  Salvaje debuted in 1983 and was a 2-time CMLL Tag champ, CMLL Trios champ, and Mexican National Tag champ.  He also competed in AAA and IWRG.  His most recent big push came after 9/11 when he formed Los Talibanes with Scorpio, Jr. and Emilio Charles, Jr.

Jokes about inflated opinions of the dead aside, he really was a fantastic rudo and hilarious as part of the original Guapos stable w/Scopio Jr. & Emilio Charles Jr.  The idea was that the 3 ugliest guys in Lucha Libre got blond dyejobs and suddenly thought they were the best looking.  Then they were joined by the legitimately handsome Shocker who switched their blonde dye with black dye, uglifying them and igniting a long, awesome feud.  He was also part of Santo's turn and was one of Yoshihiro Asai's (Ultimo Dragon) first rivals in Japan.

the legitimately handsome Shocker

I guess the bar is pretty low in Mexico.  Maybe I should go down there.  The women seem pretty desperate.
