Sometimes the sequel does as well as the original... other times, not so much.

Steve Regal in the U.S. was Mister Electricity until Darren Matthews started under the name as came to the States in 1992 or so, largely after the original had left the ring behind.

In the late 70s, Sandor Szabo was a name used by a TV jobber and opening match guy in the AWA.

When the AWA did tapings in Atlantic City in 1985, one of the locals they used was going by Jim Londos.

Johnny Ace may have been a repackaged name for both Johnny Weaver and John Laurinaitis; not sure if there was one preceding both of them.

Paul Diamond was the name of an early 70s AWA midcard guy, and later used by Tom Boric around the mid 80s.

That's a start; who can add to the list?

The second Strangler Lewis was loads more successful than the first.

We had a different Killer Kowalski; you had a different Kendo Nagasaki.  In either case the original was iconic, the copy...not so much.

There was a Dino Bravo in the 1960s before the more famous version started wrestling in Montreal in ithe 1970s.

There was a Steve Casey who was National Wrestling Association champion in the late 1930s.  Steven Dane used this name in the National Wrestling Alliance as a JTTS in 1989.

There have been dozens of Executioners, Gladiators, and Super Destroyers, of course.

There was a Dutch Mantell in Texas before Dory Sr. got there.

There were two Terry Garvins. One in World Class and the older one ended up in WWF office.

There is a current wrestler using Ruffy Silverstein.

There were two named Rube Wright.

I think the original Volkoff was Steve Gob.
