Hennig did very little in the WWF and no AWA fan would know about him from PNW, where I believe he was mostly just teaming with his father anyway (although they did win the PNW Tag titles together).

When Rose refereed under his real name Paul Perschmann he had brown hair and was fairly slender by his standards. It is amazing how much he blew up later in his career.

I wonder why they cut Road Warriors vs Fabulous Ones out of this show? I can't imagine that anything happened that they wouldn't want to show.

The thing is, the people who are interested in watching this card are also likely, like us, to be checking the upload against the card. I'd be happy for them just to mute the audio when the music is playing, rather that miss the match. The demographic who are into the older stuff are very much completionists, and something is always better than nothing.

There is zero reason why they couldn't air the Road Warriors vs. the Fabs. If the music was the problem, the answer was to do what WWE Network has done with numerous matches from the era which was to edit off the entrances to just show things bell to bell. The AWA didn't air the music after the finishes so that shouldn't have been a problem at all. Watch World Class on WWE Network for instance. The entrances and music are all edited out. They just go to the introductions with the wrestlers already in the ring.

Just show the entrances and dub some generic instrumental music over the original. I’ve watched a year’s worth of the World Championship Wrestling Saturday Night show from the old 24/7 feed. Smooth Operator for Rude is dubbed over. Sharp Dressed Man is dubbed over for Jimmy Garvin. The Midnight Express theme song is dubbed over. It’s not a big deal, and at some point the new songs just fit fine. I’d rather have all of the matches than missing one. That drives me insane.

9th day of Hidden Jems (Saturday) WWEnetworknews.com AWA 12/25/1986 – AWA Brawl in St. Paul [Duration: 01:42:24] It’s a St. Paul Steel Cage Showdown when Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty look to grab AWA tag team gold on Christmas Night 1986. AWA is the most prominent promotion for these 12 Days of Hidden Gems, which excites many due to the lack of AWA content currently available within the archives. Those looking forward to more content from the classic promotion are in luck as this 1986 show clocks in at over an hour and forty minutes in length and is headlined by a young Shawn Michaels teaming with Marty Jannetty to battle Buddy Rose and Doug Somers in a steel cage match. Of course, of the seven matches reported to have taken place that night it’s not currently known how much will be included in this release, but at the length it has it’s likely the majority of the contests will be made available. It’ll also be interesting to see if another Buck Zumhofe match is cut, as it could be a sign that some of his matches are being avoided due to the controversy and legal trouble surrounding the former AWA star. Despite that, he is seen across numerous WWE Network programs. Below is a list of matches that took place that night, though it’s not confirmed which will be featured: Buddy Wolfe vs. Buck Zumhofe. Earthquake Ferris vs. Brian Knobbs. Boris Zhukov vs. Steve O. Leon White, Greg Gagne, and Scott Hall vs. Mr. Saito, The Super Ninja, and Larry Zbyszko. Nick Bockwinkel vs. Curt Hennig. Jimmy Snuka vs. Col. DeBeers. Steel Cage: The Midnight Rockers vs. Buddy Rose and Doug Somers.

Pretty sure I’ve seen that entire ‘86 show before on the old COD 24/7. Surprising it hasn’t been uploaded until now.

I think you are right and if I remember correctly, there was some weird video glitch associated with it. Perhaps the glitch was due to WWE 24/7 at the time or perhaps it was the source tape. I guess we'll see.
