Besides a JYD-Hayes steel cage dog collar match at the New Orleans Superdome, one of the biggest shows in Mid-South history, on 8/2/80, a number of matches saw JYD team with Bill Watts and some six-man matches teaming with Terry Orndorff included loser leaves town stipulations. It was pretty much the biggest money making feud in the area until the 1984 Last Stampede run with Watts/Stagger Lee vs Jim Cornette's Midnight Express.

Not the best quality, but certainly watchable. Runs about 7 minutes including a discussion between Robley and Bill Watts.

So where there two blindings that took place? When Meltz wrote about the angle on the JYD obit it sounded like the most fantastic thing ever.

The second one was at the Omni 3/29/81 with JYD and Tommy Rich teaming against the Freebirds, who had just repeatedly piledriven Ted Dibiase during a tv match. The events can be viewed online in the Blinding The Dog Again series on YouTube.

This is what I like to see I am sure there are a lot more Full cards other than WWE in the archives.

It is that time of the week again – WWE Hidden Gems are on the way! This time, we only have one upload coming to the WWE Network archives but it is a big one: an over two hour long full Great American Bash show! And if that wasn’t exciting enough, the upcoming upload features a Wargames match.

This 1988 event features ten matches of varying lengths, and each match listed below is indeed included in the final upload. It does feature a warning stating it is in the most complete form possible, however. Stars highlighted on the card include the likes of Ric Flair, The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Rick Steiner, Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express, Sting, Lex Luger, Arn Anderson, among others. The show has no commentary, although it does include ring introductions from Tony Schiavone. Some of this event has been released so the entire upload isn’t considerably rare, however it is certainly a gem nonetheless.

Below is the synopsis for the upcoming WWE Hidden Gems addition:

07/16/1988 – Great American Bash 1988: Greensboro [Duration: 02:07:42]
The Four Horsemen battle Dusty Rhodes, “Dr. Death” Steve Williams, Lex Luger, Nikita Koloff and Paul Ellering in a War Games Match.

Below is the spoiler free card for Great American Bash 1988 Greensboro courtesy of thehistoryofWWE.com:

Bugsy McGraw & Tim Horner vs. Rip Morgan & Larry Zbyzsko
The Italian Stallion vs. Ronnie Garvin.
Dick Murdoch vs. Gary Royal.
Rick Steiner vs. Jimmy Garvin.
The Sheepherders vs. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express.
Al Perez (w/ Gary Hart) vs. Brad Armstrong.
2 vs. 3 Handicap: Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers vs. Jim Cornette, NWA US Tag Team Champions Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane.
Scaffold Match: The Road Warriors vs. Ivan Koloff & the Russian Assassin.
Sting vs. NWA TV Champion Mike Rotunda (w/ Kevin Sullivan & Rick Steiner).
War Games: Lex Luger, Steve Williams, Nikita Koloff, Dusty Rhodes, & Paul Ellering vs. NWA World Champion Ric Flair, NWA US Champion Barry Windham, JJ Dillon, NWA Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard.

Scaffold Match: The Road Warriors vs. Ivan Koloff & the Russian Assassin.

They changed the rules for this match only one member of a team needs to fall to the mat. No need to tell you who took the fall...

I like how they try to shove Ellering into that War Games match because Dillon is in it on the Horseman side, even though the Road Warriors aren’t on the face side, just so there are to even “managers”. Might as well say fuck it and put Sulllivan or Zbyszco on the 4H side and the put Sting or Jimmy Garvin on the face side.
Of course, I’m sure Dillon was there to take the submission, so I just talked myself out of that. Who else would do the job?

pwinsider.com

The WWE Network, at one point, was advertising something titled "Steve Austin's Broken Skull Sessions" for this Thursday. As PWInsider.com reported several weeks ago, there have been plans for new Austin-related programming on the Network. This is what we were reporting. We are told the concept was to be Austin talking with different personalities about their career and lives, similar to Austin's podcast specials on the Network.

This week's Hidden Gems

It is that time of the week again, we can bring you the exclusive details surrounding this week’s Hidden Gems! And the WWE Hidden Gems arriving this time around are two dark matches with a Halloween theme. Both uploads set to arrive on Halloween 2019 come from Halloween 1989 – thirty years earlier. They feature legends like Roddy Piper, Rick Rude, Macho King Randy Savage, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and even Queen Sherri.

Of course, with both matches being dark, neither feature commentary. Additionally, neither showcase the entrances and thus remain with a tight shot fixed on the ringside area. Once again, these videos will be uploaded to WWE Network on Thursday, 10/31/2019.

Below is the information for both upcoming WWE Hidden Gems:

WWF Superstars Taping Dark Match 10/31/1989 – Rowdy and Ravishing [Duration: 00:11:48]
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper looks to show Rick Rude just how ravishing he can be when they face off in this rarely seen contest from Halloween 1989.

WWF Superstars Taping Dark Match 10/31/1989 – A Savage Halloween [Duration: 00:14:08]
On Halloween night 1989, “Macho King” Randy Savage, accompanied by Sensational Queen Sherri, battles “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan.

It may be a little later than we’d like but we can finally reveal the details on today’s Hidden Gems addition to the WWE Network. Thankfully, it’s a doozy. It could even be classed as the first-ever “direct sequel” to a previously released gem, and perhaps the most famous of them all. Taking place on 11/06/1983 from the legendary Omni Coliseum in Georgia, this is the first event to be held by Georgia Championship Wrestling after the fabled ‘Last Battle of Atlanta’. While obviously not of the same god-tier rarity as its predecessor, long-form Omni footage from the Georgia Championship Wrestling territory is still sought after by wrestling historians and today’s upload is more than 90-minutes worth.
As you’d expect, the video includes the “presented in the most complete form possible” disclaimer at the beginning and has no commentary. We can confirm the following matches:
Chief Joe Lightfoot vs Brad Armstrong
National Television Championship: Jake “The Snake” Roberts (w/ Paul Ellering) vs Ron Garvin ©
The Great Kabuki (w/ Gary Hart) vs Jimmy Valiant
Abdullah the Butcher (w/ Gary Hart) vs Buzz Sawyer
National Tag Team Championship: Dusty Rhodes and Brett Sawyer vs The Road Warriors © (w/ Paul Ellering)
Ted Dibiase vs Tommy Rich
It should be noted that a Pat Rose vs Les Thornton opener is also listed under the card on wrestlingdata.com but it isn’t included here. Other than that, everything else is shown in full.
As always, here is the official video description:
Georgia Championship Wrestling 11/06/1983 – At The Omni after The Last Battle of Atlanta [Duration: 01:33:33]
Tommy Rich battles Ted DiBiase, Buzz Sawyer clashes with Abdullah the Butcher, and more as GCW returns to the site of The Last Battle of Atlanta at the Omni Coliseum.
“At The Omni after The Last Battle of Atlanta” will be added to the Hidden Gems category in the main “In-Ring” heading of the WWE Network later today.
