Were the matches on the Congress Video tapes of the mid 80s from Worldwide, or were they MACW?

So I had a couple of those Congress Videos and watched the hell out of them. Both of them were set around the time just before Starrcade '83 and had Johnny Weaver on commentary. Can't remember if he was paired with David Crockett, but I think he was. One of the tapes started off with Chavo Guerrero. There was a lot of discussion about Harley Race putting a bounty on Flair, and Orton and Slater were trying to collect. Also Piper was a "good guy" on the tape, which blew my mind as a young WWF Fan.

For the life of me, I never understand why they would put those tapes out. I know someone obviously paid JCP for it but had no idea what they were getting.

Is the Bruiser Brody-Mark Fleming match on there from 1/1/83?

The latest "vintage" WWE Network addition will be old WWF Coliseum Home Videos, PWInsider has learned.

There will be 38 videos uploaded to the Network's VOD section the first week of February.

The Coliseum videos had been planned for some time, although there was talk internally of instead adding old WCW Thunder episodes since the lawsuit brought against the compan by Buff Bagwell and Raventhe lack of royalties for in regard to their appearances on the WWE Network has been dismissed. That lawsuit led to WWE delaying the addition of Thunder and WWE Sunday Night Heat to the Network, but now that WWE successfully defended themselves against it, the door is now open for that content to be added.

PWInsider.com can also confirm the frontrunner to be added in March are old episodes of WWWF All-Star Wrestling from the 1970s.

I’m not really a 70’s fan but if they loaded a bunch of footage I’d watch it all.

If they upload All-Star Wrestling from the '70s I will be beyond thrilled. But it wouldn't surprise me if they do the Championship Wrestling show starting in 1977 like they did for Classics on Demand, and just continue on with that through the years.

My thing is that it may be cheaper just to digitize entire shows than trying clip and edit certain matches out of them, but I would try to just put specific angles and such because most of the matches are squash matches.

I absolutely love squash matches, mostly because you get to see the stars "show off", particularly their finisher.

There is a lot of merit to this.  The best example I can come up with is the Road Warriors.  Some of their old AWA and Crockett squashes were fun to watch.  You got to see them perform their best moves.  The jobbers would get beat to shreds, but the good ones took the clotheslines, press slams and doomsday device like champs.  Now, think of all of the Road Warriors main event/PPV/"name" matches in their careers.  I can probably count on one hand (with some fingers left over) how many matches were memorable and good.

I always thought the WWF had poor TV show cards compared to other areas and territories when it came to squashes, especially the 1970’s. I always viewed mot of the cards as suffering through the repetitious squashes each week to view the promos or watch any impending or ongoing angles.

Latest rumor is that WWE changed their minds and will upload WCW Saturday Night to the Network in March instead of WWWF All Star Wrestling.
