I haven't really heard his stuff as the timeframe doesn't interest me too much, but if the major names in the podcast business (Zellner, Bix) seemingly have doubts in regards to his believeability, than it has to fishy

I’ve been listening to the Bruce / Conrad and the Tony / Conrad Podcasts from the start coming over from the Flair and Conrad podcast. I like all of them but I don’t take any of them as ultimate proof. Tony’s in my opinion is probably the most honest because it feels like he legit could care less most of the time. At times they all say things that sound plausible or legit and other times not so much however Conrad usually does a decent job of sticking it to Bruce or Tony much better than he did with Flair.

I think most would agree that Bruce always towed the company line for the WWE on the original show but I don’t blame him. He spent a lot of time with Vince and it would be difficult and most likely hurtful for him to say terrible things about certain things so I don’t blame him.

On the topic of Bix and Zellner, i listened to their between the sheets show for awhile but I dropped it in favor of the fuller podcast. I just had to many going and didn’t have the time to stay semi current on all of them otherwise.

Someone needs to edit the Fullers podcast so that I don't have to hear 50% worthless and mostly recycled shit each episode. Normally I hear my podcasts during my commute (car) so I can`t switch audio speeds. So out goes the Studcast and I tend to listen to BtS

So I watched/listed to the podcast on the WWE Network. It was just as good as their regular radio show, but the visuals added nothing to the show. I was just listening to it while doing something else, but I can't see anyone spending the best part of two hours actually sitting in front of their TV for this. I think people who don't know the show will be disappointed because there was nothing to tell you who Bruce and Conrad were, the video was shitty webcam quality, and Bruce and Conrad are two ugly dudes to be shoving their faces right into your living room.

Question for the brain trust here... when they were discussing the post-WM press conference, Conrad briefly mentioned that there was someone there that they couldn't name. Any ideas who that was? The comment passed their quality control, since all the WWFs and fucks were edited out.

I was confused by that as well.  I thought they meant Chyna because who else would be with HHH, but they mentioned her many times previously.  The only person who really can't be named in WWE is Benoit, and he had nothing to do with this.

The only person I could think of was Stephanie. No one ever talks about her in interviews, even when they have left the company. Bryan Alvarez did a series of interviews a few years back with former WWE writers, and they always talked about "she who shall not be named".

I’m 15 episodes behind on the studcast, if they are doing that much recap it sounds like a good time to delete that one as well.

Stephanie would've been 21 at the time, a junior or senior in college and not very involved in anything aside from summer internships.  I don't see why she would've been doing anything with Shane and HHH at WM XIV.

Maybe recap was a bad description, it's more like the format has lots of worthless selfpraising and shtick and it might as well be the exact same sentences from a prior episode.

Ehh either way I’ve been listening to the lapsed fan podcast lately and liking it.

Mike Johnson's thoughts:

The first episode of Something Else To Wrestle With with Bruce Prichard and Conrad Thompson is now available on the WWE Network's VOD area in the Original Series section with the pair discussing all things Wrestlemania 14. The episode, which runs 104 minutes, breaks a lot of ground for the WWE Network as it skews very closesly to their podcast format, including discussion of Newsletter articles and reviews of the events, naming Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer, which has to be a first for WWE programming on any level. It's one thing for Triple H to talk to wrestling media at media events; it's another to reference that media in WWE-produced programming, so this absolutely breaks the fourth wall in a lot of ways that WWE has never done before, to the point that at times Conrad Thompson looked like the cat who swallowed the canary with a "Can you believe they are letting us get away with this sh**?" smile. It was obvious Thompson did his homework and was ready for this and Bruce, well, he was Bruce, which is what people want to hear and see.

As a pilot, there were obvious ways to improve the production, but that's any show you produce for the first time. The show seemed subdued compared to some of the arguing that goes on during their regular podcast, but that may have been by design. I think diehard listeners will notice the difference, but if you were a first-time listener hearing the story of The Undertaker wrapping his fists backstage to insure Shawn Michaels did the job to Steve Austin that night, I'd think you'd probably love the show. A WWE show utilizing the inside history of WWE events (even if that history is simply Bruce's recolllections) has never been done on a full blown scale by the company, so this is really breaking lots of ground.

I am most curious in seeing how much WWE reigns this madness in, if at all, in the weeks to come. If this takes off, it really opens the door for WWE to do a lot more and there are certainly other legitimate podcasts and radio shows that would work in that format if WWE allowed creative freedom, especially The Taz Show or Jim Ross' podcast. If the show disappears, we'll know WWE threw it to the gallows because they didn't want that sort of discussion being legitimized under their umbrella.

"Never been done before"?????

There are plenty of shows on the Network that have inside history of WWE events. Most of them have been cancelled.

I watched about 6 minutes and stopped. As a podcast it’s fine but I’m not interested in watching them talk. In the portion I saw it looked like something ESPN would produce with the split screens and talking back and forth. Maybe for season 2 they can add tony and have 3 boxes on the screen.

The second episode of Bruce Prichard and Conrad Thompson's Something Else To Wrestling With on the WWE Network will debut in the VOD section at 9 PM. The episode will focus on The Mega-Powers, Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage.
