Yes, Arakawa competed in the WWWF from early June 1969 through late December 1969.  He held the WWWF International Tag Team with Toru Tanaka, they were known as The Rising Suns.   Arakawa received at least two WWWF Heavyweight Title matches: one on July 12, 1969 in Springfield, MA.  Another on August 26, 1969 in Atlantic City.

I thought of that one also. Wasn't sure about the NWA shot.

Surprised this many names. Just because the WWWF champs were babyfaces and a heel (Bockwinkle) had such a stranglehold on the AWA belt during the Bruno/Backlund WWWF era.

Did Bob Orton Jr ever have an AWA title shot? I know he faced off vs Backlund in 1982, and presume at some point he got an NWA shot over the years.

Slaughter and Austin Idol are great calls - never thought of those two. Slaughter headlined the Meadowlands against Flair in a great match.

I thought of Slaughter but dq'ed him because his AWA title shots came after 1984.
