I am fully on board with asserting that Taue was clearly a notch below Misawa/Kawada/Kobashi (and Tsuruta, whom he was obviously intended to replace), but he didn't suck. His choke slam was crap, however.

Seen a picture of Brody dead in a coffin at his funeral the other day....Someone posted it on Facebook in Matt Farmer's Puerto Rican wrestling history group......It was weird as hell seeing him dead....Who the fuck takes pictures at funerals anyway?
Not how I wanted to remember him....it's no secret that I am a huge fan of him.

There's an old Italian tradition (probably certain parts of Italy, or certain types of Italians, maybe not all, don't know) of taking pics of the dead person in the casket and sending it to those that sent flowers or brought gifts to the wake and whatnot. After my uncle died way back, my sister got a thank you card and almost fell on the floor when she saw a pic of my uncle in the casket come falling out of the card when she opened it.
Thankfully that tradition is dying off with the old guard as far as I can see.

Mid 91 to early 93 WCW without Flair is pretty good. Sure the great American bash from 91 is terrible but the overall product is very fun to watch.

This was the period where they focused on tag teams with the Steiners, Gordy/Williams, Windham/Rhodes, etc. and it was fantastic.

Watching old shows from late 70's/early 80s St Louis to be boring as fuck. It's just a fucking mishmash of shit every week, and no buildup or storylines.

Even before that with the creation of the dangerous alliance, Dustin and steamboat, the debut and rise of Stunning Steve.
It is weird though because the weekly TV shows often times came off better than the PPV’s.

There is a lot of love for WCW in 1989 and I'll admit there was plenty going on that is worthy of prase; Flair vs. Steamboat, Flair vs. Funk, Muta vs. Sting, Muta in general, the Steiners becoming a team, an incredibly deep tag team division, Luger's heel turn and persona, and some other things. However, the change in appearance and tone from JCP to WCW was jarring, the TV formatting often left a lot to be desired, the deadweight in the mid to lower part of the card was immense, and there were dumb gimmicks, vignettes, and angles floating around for which not all the blame can be conveniently dumped on Jim Herd. I don't hold the 1989 year for WCW as highly as most.

Is Adam any relation to the Rose family from OSW?

Yes.  If you can find the family photo I'll point him out to you.  He's Johnny's bastard son.

I stated that I didn’t like Piper earlier in this thread and the more I watch of him the less I like him. His work pre 87 retirement is pretty good but the work he did after his come back is pretty terrible minus the Bret Hart match. Even on commentary he is brutal to listen to especially around the Virgil turn. I thought he was doing a commercial for the national dairy council at RR 91 as much as he talked about skim milk.

Chikara is some fucking pop-art hipsternerd creepy sect shit and Mike comes to me like some sick fuck that implants his victorian and lucha fetishes on oblivious college gym hipsters. They are also WAY too insistent on fans "having FUN". Like if you don´t outright laugh out loud during comical spots Mike will grab you and do a Heath Ledger on your face.
