The Andre vs. Savage match from '88 is very telling of all of the things we have read about and heard.  Andre was beating the crap out of Macho, and not giving him much.  His chops look brutal lol.

**Edit - Andre literally gave absolutely nothing to Savage from an offensive perspective.  Wow.

I went to a few Walmarts and they didn't have it. I guess I'll order it online

Powers of Pain as faces with Tito Santana in their corner vs. heel Demolition.  Interesting dynamics here, as I can only remember seeing this match up where the roles were reversed after the Survivor Series switcharoo.

Studd vs. Andre in 1989 was not nearly as bad as I expected.  We have all heard that Andre didn't like Studd.  Well, after watching those two matches I think Andre like Savage even less.  He treated Macho like enhancement talent lol.

Sorry man.  Sometimes my Walmart either re-orders or brings more stock out from the back.  Maybe check back in 4-5 days.

So far this dvd is like a long lost Coliseum Home Video "Best of the WWF Volume 21" on steroids.

I went ahead and ordered it thru Amazon, I'm sure it will show up eventually. I'm tired of looking for it

Dusty Rhodes with no polka dots or theme music vs. Ted Dibiase.  Interesting to see Dusty with more of his pre-WWE era persona here.

There's a match with them from the Boston Garden out there from the same week or so. Same thing, no polka dots, no theme song, just Dusty. He pins DiBiase clean in it too. It was the last televised Boston show.

Hillbilly Jim and Duggan vs. Andre and Haku is a fun match.  Haku on display, being the fantastic hand that he is.

Literally just got back from Best Buy.  For some reason I thought they were open until 10pm.  I got there at 9:03, and the doors were locked and they had the cage slid over 80% across the front door.  I knocked, and the dude in the yellow security jacket came over and unlocked the door.  Told him I wanted to come in and buy the new WWE dvd that just came out...would only take me a minute...please let me in!!!!!  He did...
So I had half the store hunting this dvd down.  Couldn't find it for the life of us. Literally four employees walking down the aisles.  They used to have an entire section for sports and wrestling.  They had one dvd in the entire store dedicated to wrestling...this one.  We finally found it next to Supergirl Season 1 or 2.  They still had two more copies on the shelf.
So, the last dvd I bought for wrestling I believe was WWF Families or Most Powerful Families or something like that.  That was actually 10 years ago to the month at this same store, and I remember that because we had just moved into our house at that point.  Funny how times flies.
DVD is unwrapped and in the player...watching the Owens and Kurt Angle dvd previews....let's see how far I get with this tonight.
Boz, we should be doing a DVD viewing party!

Watching The Machines & Hulkamachine vs. Studd, Bundy, and Heenan.  No commentary, and you can hear the crowd reaction to the match.  So far so good.

I'm under the assumption this thing came out yesterday, and I picked up the last copy at my Walmart.  I find that interestng.  The Kevin Owens, Kurt Angle, and Seth Rollins dvd's still remain in pretty large quantities.

Boz,
On the first match with the Machines vs. Studd, Bundy and Heenan...did your dvd have a little bit of a tracking or hiccup issue?  Like every ten seconds the video with sort of bump a bit?  Not sure how else to describe it.  Just assuming the original video tape had the issue and it was transfered over to dvd.
Sean Mooney is the man.

First match was fun. Only thing that would have made it better would have been if Heenan took the leg drop. :)

Looks like this may have been filmed at one of the first Superstars or Challenge tapings (before they had the banners).

Yeah, so far it is great.  Watching Pedro Morales vs. Savage now.  Great picture quality for something this old.  Maybe it just looks good next to the crappy picture quality I get streaming off of the Network through my PS3.

If WWE put out a dvd like this every 3 months I would buy every single one.

The finish to this match is one that Savage used on a number of occassions. In fact, I'm almost positive I saw a Savage/Pedro match on an old Boston Garden or MSG card with the same finish.  Only other comment on this match- Savage's robe looked like shit.  Some kind of weird home-made graffiti painted thing from his ICW or Memphis days.  Not the nice robes we were used to seeing.

Hogan and Piper in their heyday.

Great shit.  The bump that Heenan took over the top rope was one of his best ever.  The camera missed the end where Piper took the belt and handed it to Hogan.
This must have been in that one or two week period where they toyed with the idea of ditching the Harley Race name and just announcing him as "The King".  The graphics said "The King" too.  Glad they didn't follow through with that.
Crowd was apeshit.
