Watching episode 2 as I type this.  Marc Maron is stealing the show from the women.

I would not have recognized Awesome Kong in a million years.

You'd also never know she wasn't an actress. She doesn't have a huge part but she does really well. John Morrison was pretty stiff.

I watched the first three so far. It's okay, but it's not the amazing show that I'd read about in a couple of reviews. Mike Johnson said that it "may be the best thing to happen to pro wrestling in years." Calm down, son. If if wasn't wrestling themed, I'd probably give up now and watch something else. Without actually knowing what the real GLOW was, there is zero anticipation about what may be to come in later episodes.

I really like the music they use though. Compare to Vince who won't spend a rusty nickel on getting the rights to any music for the WWE Network.

I agree, it's OK, not great. It's not on the same level as Weeds or Orange Is The New Black, and even for wrestling fans it's not mind-blowing. It has its funny moments, the dramatic ones fall a bit flatter than in her other series though.

And apparently they paid WWE because there are scenes where they're watching the WWF and NWA.

For those interested, here are the cameos so far:

John Morrison plays the wrestling trainer who gets fired in ep 1

Brodus Clay plays the older brother of one of the girls who is part of a wrestling family in ep 3

Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian wrestle each other at an indy show that the girls go to in ep 5.  Alex Riley and Joey Ryan wrestle each other later on the show. They go backstage and meet Riley (and he bangs one of them) so he has a larger part.

I'm sure I recognized the other brother, along with Brodus Clay. Some big-haired goof who was in WWE very briefly around 2007? Maybe in ECW. I can't remember his name to check though.

You're describing Ricky Ortiz. I don't know if that was him though. Possibly.

I was thinking of Ortiz, yes. It's actually Carlito in GLOW, though. There's a big training scene in Ep 7 where he gets some lines.

How "dirty" is it? Wondering whether my 10-year-old son should watch.

The thing that gets me is the resurgence of hype over the original GLOW and the re-writing of history saying it was such a great, original product.

No, it was shit, and as a fan at the time it embarrassed me, even if I was a teenager and they were hot(ish) women.

It has some boobs,  many "fucks" and a few "cunts".

It's not really about wrestling, it's about female wrestlers, and many of the issues are quite adult. Any more and I would be giving out spoilers. I'd say it's made for a 14+ audience.

All I need to know. There's plenty of other stuff for him to watch.

I saw the first 3 over the weekend and enjoyed it. I agree with the earlier post that it has just enough 80s references without going overboard.

It is very "Orange-y"- think women in wrestling vs women in prison. It has a fun mix of goofball characters.

What episode is Kong in? I've only seen first three, and don't recall seeing her.
