PWInsider:

On the latest episode of his Houston Radio show, Heated Conversations, Booker T said that the reason he is no longer on Raw is due to his former colleague Corey Graves.

Thanks to James Oliver for sending the transcription of what Booker said on the show.

“People ask me about Corey Graves. Corey Graves is good at what he does, you know? Corey Graves, he’s thrown jabs at me, I’ve thrown jabs back, you know? And you know, the thing is Corey Graves, of course, yeah, he’s a college educated young man. His vernacular is a little different than mine. You see that word I just used? Threw that out there - just want you people to know, I ain’t studied this, it’s just something that we just threw out.

But I tell you, if I got Corey Graves into a fisticuffs, I would beat him down like he stole something. I would be whooping his ass all day long. Because that’s the thing - my thing is this. I’m a nice guy, until you get on my bad side. Corey Graves, right now, I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s on my bad side, but he’s the reason that I’m not on Monday Night Raw right now. Because, you know what, a lot of people in the company thought I was gonna jump on him, I was gonna do something bad to him, I was gonna drag him, I was gonna take him out to the woodshed, I was gonna beat that man so bad, I was gonna beat him until this man say, ‘Please, please, please, just don’t beat me any more.’

That’s how hot I was getting. That’s how close I was getting. So, they said, ‘Hey, Book. We’re gonna take - step back a second, alright? We’re gonna regroup, alright, we’re gonna press the rewind button. We’re gonna send you back to the Kickoff show of SmackDownMonday Night Raw pay-per-views and cool you down for a second. Cause we don’t want you to do anything to Corey Graves, because we know what you could do to him. We know Corey Graves could do... he’s sitting there for a reason, man. He’s sitting there for a reason, and Corey Graves knows it.

You know what? I’ll tell you this here. I want all you people out there to know, you heard it right here Heated Conversations, Sports Radio 610, it’s probably gonna make all the dirt sheets like Meltzer and all those guys. But if I catch Corey Graves on the street, I’m gonna do something to him. Alright? I ain’t gonna do it at the office or anything like that. But if I catch him... not gonna do it in the airport, nah, I’m not gonna do that. But if I catch Corey Graves on the street? You see that little bouffant hairdo he got? I’m gonna rearrange it for him. Alright? I’m just saying. I’m just saying... Let me catch him at Starbucks. I’m a tattoo him...

He’s one of those guys gonna have to walk it like he talk it... Me personally, everybody knows my reputation... I get mean, when you mess with my green. And right now, my green is being messed with, you know what I mean? So, me and Corey Graves... WrestleMania coming up, right? There’s room for one more match. Right now, on my show, Heated Conversations, Sports Radio 610, I’m calling Corey Graves out to a fight. Not a match. Not a pre-show posedown or anything like that. I’m calling Corey Graves out to a fight.”

Whether Booker is serious or not, only he knows for sure.  He did say there was room for them to fight on WrestleMania.  He repeated that he was coming for him a number of times, at WrestleMania.

He also noted that he is starting a channel on Twitch in the future.

You can listen to the show by clicking here.

I read that article last night and I certainly hope Booker isn't that stupid. It's one thing when people fight in the locker room but in the streets, doesn't take long for cope and lawyers and cameras to get involved, sll of which would piss Vince off to no end. Booker's exit from Raw would ectend to "Best off luck in future endeavors"

If he's talking about WrestleMania then he's at least partially working.  If he really wanted to beat up Graves, he would just do it backstage like the time he whipped Batista.  He was seen as being in the right that time, but his WWE career won't survive another incident like that.  Aside from trying to get himself over as a tough guy, he actually just sounds like an uneducated loser venting.  No one believes that Graves has the power to get anyone removed from the broadcast booth.  Michael Cole yes, but not Graves.  And even with Cole's input, the final decision is always going to come down to Vince and Kevin Dunn.  Booker T. can't believe half the shit he's saying.

Is Bill Apter the editor pwinsider now? They allude to the fact that this might be a work at the end, but still. This is all just bluster. If Booker was being honest he would just say he was replaced because he talks incomprehensible nonsense 90% if the time.

Booker T isn't saying Corey Graves got him dropped as a Raw commentary team member. He's saying that Graves was deliberately criticizing him, baiting him, and messing with him enough that Booker was getting so mad and the heat so high that the WWE honchos finally decided to take Booker off the team and use him on the pre and post Raw and SD programs as well as on the PPV panels. Booker isn't happy and wants to give Corey a beating for making it come to this. It doesn't seem like a work, and Graves is apparently not in a position to wrestle due to his career ending injury, so this seems like Booker venting steam. No match is happening. I believe the anger is real, but don't think the threat of violence is unless Corey goes out of his way to provoke him.

The bigger question then is...why was he given this spot in the first place?  He's always been awful.

It was supposed to be temporary because Otunga got a movie, but they decided to leave him in that spot after Otunga came back. I always heard that Vince got a kick out of his commentary.

Actually it was enjoyable to listen to and sort of a guilty pleasure listening to them three because Booker was different from the bland boring style that smackdown has with Corey and Saxton which is just bland no spice.
And the Coach is just as bland as Saxton.

Corey took a shot at Booker T last night on RAW

Just as #Bayley was about to make her entrance, Graves said the following to Jonathan Coachman: “Better be careful Coach, watch your tongue or you might be doing afternoon radio locally.”

That was definitely a jab at Booker T and his radio show that airs locally on the CBS Affiliate in Houston and online through multiple podcast platforms

If yo have been watching wrestling for 20+ years and know all about Booker T, it was very entertaining, but for anyone else....

This is brewing up to be a good WrestleMania undercard/pre-show matchup!

Corey is the best announcer that they have had since Mauro on the main shows. Booker was sorta like Dusty was on those Saturday Night shows. Booker had his own Vocabulary just like Dusty.

Graves is fantastic, I can definitely see him replacing Cole as the main guy in the company one day if Cole is bumped up to more of an office spot or gets burnt out announcing.

I think comparing Booker to Dusty does Dusty a huge disservice though.  Dusty had a brilliant mind for the business and knew how to put angles over.  His somewhat goofy persona as a commentator was just that.  Booker was often clueless as to the purpose of the angle and what the bookers were trying to get over.  Graves and Cole had to constantly call him out on saying stupid shit that contradicted the direction the angle was heading, and that's why Booker thinks Graves had it in for him.

I cannot stand Graves. At least Booker was kinda funny in a dopey way. Everyone and their brother in every walk of life now tries way too hard to be the snarky guy, so it's just aggravating at this point. The Raw and Smackdown teams when I actually watch are so repellent that I wish I knew Spanish just to listen to something else instead of mute. Plus he just looks like some assbag who got tossed from a Blink-182 cover band.

I agree. Nobody really sounds natural. The standard babyface commentator talks just like gay decorators from "My House isn`t Big Enough" while the heel is pretty much the same, just smarky instead of dorky. But they`re still dorks.
