The Arion-Strongbow stuff got me thinking. For me as a WWWF fan it will always be Bruno vs Larry as the 'best' because there were unintentionally years to the storyline of Larry being under Bruno etc.

Put me down for Bruno and Larry.

I really got into Jimmy Snuka when he turned good.

Barry Windham turning on Lex Luger came out of nowhere for me but noteworthy because of the shock. They seemed like they were going to beat Tully & Arn for the belts. Never saw it coming.

Nikita Koloff’s face turn got as big a pop as I’ve ever heard.

I’m partial to the Austin-Bret double-turn at WM.

Very interesting.

Tough call between the Arion and Zbyszko heel turns.

I will go with the Arion turn just because of the different dynamics involved such as the tag team title match with The Valiants and Bruno’s involvement, the Kowalski match and the incident with the torn up headdress.

But, Bruno vs. Zbyszko was the perfect storyline of student vs. teacher.

Is the Nikita on YouTube or anywhere?  I was in the service when this occurred and do not even remember hearing g about it.  What was the background and event?

Virtually every turn mentioned was great.  But the Nikita turning face was just incredible to me because there was no way in hell that it was gonna happen, nobody would believe or buy it, but everyone ate it up.  It’s kinda shitty though because from then on out Nikita wasn’t the same monster he had been, even when he turned again in 92.

Others may have been bigger on a surprise factor but Zybsko's turn on Bruno made his career, in my opinion.

Is the Nikita on YouTube or anywhere?  I was in the service when this occurred and do not even remember hearing g about it.  What was the background and event?  Nikita beat Magnum in the Best of 7 series for the US Title and it was just 7 matches that were all out Wars.  After losing, Magnum gave credit to Nikita for being so tough and vowed he’d get the title back or beat Ric Flair for The NWA belt.  Then he crashed his car.  Dusty had an advertised main event with Magnum vs the Horsemen (I think Tully and Arn) and Magnum was near death and everyone knew it.  I even think the Horsemen said that Dusty would be going at it 2 on 1 because he had no partner since all his other friends had matches that night.  At the event, Dusty came out and about ten steps behind him was Nikita.  Dusty hit the ring hard and got attacked 2 on 1 like Tully said.  Nikita slowly got in the ring and stood in a corner.  Then, out of nowhere, he charged and hit Arn (I think) with the Russian sickle and just started cleaning house while the whole city of Greensboro came unglued.  Afterwards, Nikita came on the Superstation. Almost in tears, he stated that Magga TA was the toughest man he ever fought and he earned his respect, and until Magga TA can come back, Nikita Koloff will fight for him.  And TBS Studios came unglued.

I vote for the Larry-Bruno turn as the greatest turn ever but I believe that the Buzz Sawyer face turn in Georgia is one of the most underrated turns

It's hard to top the shock value and box office of Andre's turn.

Best face turn was Masked Superstar 's Gene Anderson's army in 1981

Heel turn was Wahoo teaming with Tully Blanchard
