I know a lot of wrestlers have gotten hurt over the years, but reading today that Shinsuke Nakamura got pulled from Smackdown because he got bitten in the locker room by the narc dog that sniffs for drugs and weapons.

Anybody have any other "strange injuries" for wrestlers?  Not talking about drug and alcohol injuries, unless of course they happen at the arena.  I'm talking like 'Sammy Sosa sneezes and lands on the 15 Day DL' type of injury.

I have a lot of baseball ones, but I can't think of any wrestler ones.

Hillbilly Jim was off to a big push in 1985 when he slipped on a puddle of water on the locker room floor after leaving the showers. He broke his leg and didn't wrestle for months. The Uncle Elmer and Cousin Junior gimmicks were created so HBJ could manage them and stay on TV.

I believe I heard on a podcast recently that it actually happened during a run in on a WWF card in California (San Diego?)

Yeah, it was either San Diego or Los Angeles. They had enough matches taped to air and keep him in the mix until Stan Frazier and Lanny Kaen could come in as kin. I think Brutus Beefcake was given storyline credit for the injury as opposed to it being a freak accident.

In the early part of 2000, Brad Armstrong was injured and put out of wrestling for a while after he got hit in an arena parking lot by a car driven by Juventud Guerrera. Juvi and Psychosis were goofing around, and probably high, when Juvi veered into Brad who was nearby.

Not sure if it's strange or just bad luck but Sting blowing out his knee simply by trying to climb that cage (before Capital Combat 90 I think? The kick him out of the Horsemen angle) was really strange when you consider how rare that is.

Sami Zayn tearing a rotator cuff before his match with John. Cena.
Then there were injury prone guys like Ahmed Johnson who hurt himself once falling out of the ring or something and the ever injured Wade Barrett.
X-Pac and anus. Nuff said.

Mike Furnas being run over by a Dominos Pizza delivery driver.
Perro Aguayo's death was a complete freak accident.
Original Sin Cara had a couple bizarre ones IIRC.

I don't know if that was strange, but it's easily the most gruesome injury I've ever seen live, in wrestling or in any other context period.  You have to watch Faces of Death to see much worse than that.

The main event of UFC 24 on March 10, 2000 at the Lake Charles Civic Center in Lake Charles, LA was supposed to have been Kevin Randleman defending the UFC Heavyweight Title against Pedro Rizzo. While warming up backstage in preparation for the match, Randleman slipped on the concrete floor, fell, banged his head, was knocked unconscious briefly, and then was diagnosed with a concussion after being revived. This caused the match to be cancelled while the PPV was already in progress.

I CANNOT watch gruesome shit like that. I was watching that PPV live when it happened, luckily they missed it and when they cut back to the ring he lifted his leg and you could see part of it NOT lift and I remember cringing and just looking away in horror.
The next night at that Nitro when they announced they were going to show it, 2 friends of mine always came over to watch wrestling on Mondays' with me,  and that night my younger brother had come over. I knew what happened and when they were announcing they were fixing to show it I said "Ya'll gotta see this!" then I turned away. Like 5 seconds later I hear them screaming "OH MY GOD!!!" and Matt (friend) running down my hallway to get away from the TV and my brother and Eric (other friend) ran out the front door onto the porch to get some air lol.  To this DAY I still haven't watched that..their reaction was all I needed to see to realize I should never seek that out..
