Oh yeah, this is an MSG show I'd shell out some coin for some good seats to watch from.

A few questions

Does this have a realistic chance of selling out?

Does this mean Sinclair is looking to start elevating ROH to be a serious #2 to the E? Or is this just a one off?

Are we going to see Davey Richards drop out of medical school at any moment so he can be on this show?

1) It will sell out.

2) I think this ends up more of a New Japan show, with some ROH talent sprinkled in. Sinclair gives no fucks about ROH, other than it being programming. If they did, the people in charge that can't get homegrown acts over would have been fired long ago.

3) He is driving to the northeast as we speak to get booked.

The New York Post has an article on Ring of Honor and New Japan G1 SuperCard in Madison Square Garden with comments from the ROH COO Joe Koff.

WWE's official statement on the matter reads as follows:

“MSG is, of course, free to work with ROH [Ring of Honor] however they want".

Yeah because WWE didn’t try to block this at all. I’m wondering if there’s going to be pressure on guys like Chris Jericho and others who floated in and out of NJPW to choose a side now.

The first pre-sale for Ring of Honor's G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden moved a huge amount of tickets today. PWInsider.com has been told by ROH sources that the company has already sold out about half of MSG. If you don't factor in the 9/1 All In event, that's a record amount of tickets sold for Ring of Honor and pretty much guarantees that ROH will shatter its existing attendance records. The pre-sale will continue until Friday morning, when the general on sale kicks off at 10 AM EST. Needless to say, ROH is absolutely thrilled.

ROH COO Joe Koff stated that 60% of the tickets for ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard at MSG were sold in the HonorClub presale.

I'm very pleased to say that I'm part of that 60% of early ticket buyers.

I bought tickets to the ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard at MSG at 12.35am (Australian time) through that HonorClub presale.

The wait until the very early hours of the morning was definitely worth it! :)

G1MSG is the pre-sale code for anyone who wants to use it.

G'day SRossi,
No, mate.  :)
I'm flying in for about a month including the WrestleMania "week" festivities.
Cheers!

Ring of Honor General Manager Greg Gilliland described yesterday's Ring of Honor and New Japan G1 Supercard ticket pre-sale for the 4/9/19 Madison Square Garden event, made up of subscribers of ROH's Honorclub as "Amazing", commenting that the show was "history in the making."

Yesterday's MSG pre-sale moved just under 9,000 tickets, Gilliand confirmed. That would be a record for first-day ROH ticket sales if "All In" isn't factored in.

The belief is that around 60-70% of the arena will have been pre-purchased by Friday, when tickets officially go on sale to the general public. A sellout looks to be guaranteed on Friday, setting the stage for the largest gate and crowd in Ring of Honor's 16-year history.

Gilliand, who has been overseeing ROH since Sinclair Broadcast Group purchased the company, commented to PWInsider.com that the MSG event is a "really great benefit to pro wrestling and wrestling fans.
