The NEW LOD with Animal and Heidenreich.

...just kidding. I actually agree a ton with Arn and Zbyszko because honestly they were just as much fun to watch as the Hollywood Blonds team that gets so much press as being the best of that era. But I'm also going to say Mike Rotundo and Barry Windham should be considered - if you go back and watch their matches, they put on really good shows. And as a kid, their Texas Tornado match at MSG (or somewhere in the NY area and broadcast on the MSG network) was the coolest thing to an entire middle school class because we'd never seen a tag match with all four in the ring at the same time.

People had heart attacks during that match.  They were dropping like flies.  Show some respect for the dead!

Sorry

-Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch

-Dick Slater and Bob Orton Jr - easily could have been NWA Tag Champs if The Briscos were not the top heel team in the Carolinas in the last half of 1983.

-Bob Orton Jr and Don Kernodle - were good champs even though they were only together about 3 months because Orton headed to the WWF.

-Terry Gordy and Jimmy Snuka

Some will laugh when I say Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood but tons of fans of a certain age missed out on these guys together and only know Steamboat from his singles career but for those us who witnessed them they were one of the great teams ever. Ricky Steamboat was interviewed by Chris Jericho for around a hour and a half and Jericho didnt bring up Ricks team with Jay once. that's just wrong.lol

How much Gordy and Snuka is on tape? That sounds like and interesting pairing; Was that is Georgia?

GCW

1982-1983 range....around there. **** (I see above that it was 1981 which makes sense)

Snuka was not the wild islander.  He came off as a more composed badass.

There is not a lot of them on YouTube.  I think GCW sets of TV programs would be the best bet to watch them.

Bloom & Enos in the AWA "Hold on Mike, I'll handle this."

High Voltage in WCW- I just thought there was a chance to use these two to add some new life to WCW's stale tag division, but they missed the boat on them. Maybe with more exposure they would have sucked, but we'll never know.

Lenny Lane and Lodi

I agree on Adonis & Murdoch

The New Breed

From the little I saw, I wasn't particularly impressed.  And they pretty much washed out of the business.  One disappeared first and left the business while the other (Robbie Rage I think) continued briefly as a singles in WCW.  Rage then tried some tours of Japan and wasn't well received and basically that was the end of his career too.

Their claim to fame is that a young Matt Hardy sent WCW an audition tape from OMEGA where he was wrestling as High Voltage.  He never got a call, but a month later High Voltage debuted on WCW TV.  He tells that story a lot.

They did try to do so so something with High Voltage, then Rage got injured. Kaos was picked by Rick Steiner as his part co-champion for a shirt time. Rage came back from his injury with a jealousy gimmick and they teased a feud for a number of weeks. They Rage disappeared and Kaos faded away.

Furnas and Lafon / Kroffat; these guys blew my WWF mind when they debuted at Survivor Series 96. I of course searched out their AJPW and ECW work later but at that time I thought for sure they were the next WWF tag champs.

They had some decent matches with Owen and Davey Boy in WWE, but considering the talent involved those matches never reached the level it should've.  Vince basically saw 2 bland guys and never paid them a second thought.  I can't say they ever got super over in ECW either.  But they were fantastic in AJPW.
