So Mick Foley comes out on Raw last night and introduces the 24/7 Title, which is basically the same as the Hardcore Title with a different name.  So far, it's the same kind of thing, where people chase each other around in the back and the title changes hands fairly quickly.

They showed the segment a couple times on Raw, and on Smackdown tonight.  It's often portrayed as a comedy angle, making mid-carders look like buffoons.

I guess Vince thinks a new younger generation can enjoy this for the first time, but it's the same thing over and over.  How long can this possibly last?

The fans weren’t interested the second it was introduced. Foley completely lost his train of thought and fumbled the rest of his promo because the boos threw him so much. It’s just a horrendous idea.

It's just a horrendous television show in general. The booking/writing/Vince has never been worse than the present time.

The new title does nothing to interest me but they lost me a long time ago. My son however finds it mildly entertaining and if they do some crazy stuff he will enjoy it but it won’t last. He thought Braun was the coolest thing on the earth about a year ago and he doesn’t care about him anymore so I give this title 3-4 months and he won’t care.

People already don't care for the most part. If they do this correctly, it'll create what they had during the Russo era - that being, a roster from top to bottom that has something to do/an angle to work. I absolutely loved the fact that so many underused talents came out to get the belt. And Titus O'Neal winning it was perfect, only to have him lose it in 20 seconds. Roode was getting a push so having him as part of this title seemed like a waste. But if this gives the bottom talent up to the lower mid-card something to play with, it'll mean that the lower level main eventers can work upper mid carders for the secondary belts, and help elevate more talent to the main event. That is why the attitude era worked, they created about 10 main eventers that people believed in.

I’ve always felt like that for the most part the WWF during the attitude era produced shitty undercards with good main events

The thing I hated most is seeing so many talented guys who should be getting a push run around like fools playing Keystone Cops over a comedy belt that none of them should care about if they were serious about moving up the card.

This belt is so over that it has two threads here at S&W.

There are some wrestling fans for whom Lou Thesz' robe was a step too far into entertainment, and of course they will be appalled by this title. It's getting some good responses on the social medias, and guys like Matt Hardy and Drake Maverick have made some pretty funny videos about it. But hey, I like Chikara, so what do I know?

I like CHIKARA too.  There's nothing wrong with goofiness in the right setting.  There's one major issue though.  WWE has no idea how to do comedy.  Vince has the sense of humor of a cancer patient being anally raped.  I haven't found anything funny that Vince has approved in over a decade.  Every once in a while a talent will slip something in or be allowed to do his own thing that is genuinely funny, and then Vince will get involved and ruin it.  This was ruined before the toy belt was even out of the bag.  And in case you didn't think the title was lame enough, WWE double-downed on the Usos-Revival comedy bit, the one that was met by blank stares by 20,000 people the fact time it happened.

The original Hardcore belt and the 24/7 rule worked to some degree because it all came about organically. Although this is certainly a change of pace, I don't see it garnering much new interest.

Jinder Mahal won and lost the title T a golf course on a video uploaded to the YouTubes yesterday. My first reaction was that there is enough content without having to keep an eye on social media as well. But I was just being a cranky old man shaking his fiat at the sky. The video was less than two minutes long. It was crap, of course. They should just let the guys do whatever they want with this title rather than give creative one more thing to worry about, though. It does seem like the original reason for the title, to boost hour 3 ratings, has been forgotten, though. Along with any of the rules that went along with the Wildcard rule. This title wasn't Vince's idea, so he doesn't care about it.

They destroyed the concept within 2 weeks by having Drew McIntyre win in and then Shane waived the 24/7 rule to protect him for the rest of the show.  To do that so soon after debuting the title was a killer to fan interest IMO, and the McMahon stench is just everywhere.  They can't help themselves.  Of all the things that the McMahons didn't have to be involved in, this was it.  And they couldn't stay away for 2 fucking weeks.

And could someone please explain why Drake Maverick, who is NOT a wrestler in WWE, wants this title so bad?  Like what's his motivation, man?

I Don't think they killed anything. Elias wins the title, Shane waves the 24/7 rule untill the tag match is over. When the match is over Truth wins it back.

Then yesterday on a golf course Mahal beat Truth for the title, 30 Seconds later Truth wins it back
