All these seem to get shown on TV anyway eventually. And I'm not even interested in watching it then. I understand this is just an R-Truth comedy gimmick more than a real belt anyway, but to me it's subtraction by addition. This whole thing makes me less interested in the product somehow.

Havent seen that much of this go-round but I loved the 24-7 Hardcore thing.

Keep it micard and it gives the midcard guys 'something' and its an ongoing storyline. You cant take it too seriously (there was just a WWE ref on an airplane giving a 3-count0 but its fun.

Trying to understand this through the lens of someone who watched wrestling in the 80s when belts meant something, there’s no way to really grasp this.  It’s cringeworthy to me.  But again, my perspective is skewed.  Perhaps this fits in perfectly with whatever this sport/business/industry has morphed into.  It’s a comedy tv show at this point, and not even good comedy but fringe, nichiest of the niche Gong Show shit.  Whatever.  It’s creative, but I don’t see this lasting very long after they do a dozen or so of these where guys are getting pinned at Starbucks or a grocery store.  It’s going to Jump the Shark quickly.

I grew up with wrestling in the 80's as well but I have to admit, this 24/7 title is killing it with me, it's hilarious. Truth is the perfect guy to lead this thing, he's great..

It all comes down to booking and if WWE doesn't know how to book their World titles, how can they be expected to know how to book this?  I don't take wrestling too seriously, but this shit ain't funny.  Not even a little bit.  The Hardcore title and the DDT Iron Man title were just booked better.  This is crap, and I guess it all starts with the fact that I don't get the appeal of R-Truth and Carmela.  I also really don't like seeing talented guys like Bobby Roode chasing around a meangingless belt because it just reminds the viewer that they aren't being used properly.

So how about this for a booking idea.  In Saudi Arabia, Brock Lesnar cashes in his MITB to earn a shot at...the 24/7 title.  He doesn't understand the rules of the company he works for, so why not?  He destroys Truth, wins the belt, everyone is afraid to challenge him for it, and he and the title retire to the dairy farm never to be seen again.  Perfect ending.

This f****** crap jumped the shark while Mick Foley was still in the ring announcing it.
Just stupid. But with 90% of today's " fans" who have the attention span of a dust mote thirty second title reigns are about what their brains can process.

It's fun, and the workers are having fun with it. Needs to be defended at the Firefly Funhouse, or the Hardy Compound.

I think it works with R Truth as champion.

He makes it entertaining. For comedic value alone he may the only guy that can pull it off. And the way they use Carmella to save his ass over and over works.

I agree. Truth is the straw that stirs this drink.
This will be entertaining for a short period and then it has to evolve into a big man holding it that is untouchable despite the rule though the villagers try.
Then, they can topple the giant and move to a new phase.
If done right they could get a couple years out of this title like they did the original hardcore title.

I think its easy to 'book'.

The champ doesn't even have to be awake for there to be a title change and to have moved on to  'something new'

This may have been done already, but they could use it to boost their social media channels. Like: have R-Truth doing a selfie promo on his phone at baggage claim, when somebody like EC3 runs in and pins him to win the belt.

You'd need some kayfabe help along the way. So instead of R-Truth's phone being dropped, you have somebody on-site to conveniently pick up the phone to keep filming the whole thing.

"Follow R-Truth on Twitter for the latest on the 24/7 championship"

This might've worked better when WWE was doing all that "Tout" nonsense, circa 2012.

I would've been interested if Dixie Carter had rolled him from behind instead.  She deserved to be at that wedding.

The wiki page of title changes is quite funny. Under locations it has "golf course", "30,000 feet above the Red Sea", and "Drake Maverick's wedding".
