AEW did 871,000, down about 70,000 from last week. Not bad for a taped show aimed at a hardcore fan audience. They still beat NXT, which was up with 769,000.

I didn't realize it was taped.  I'm almost positive the screen still flashed "Live" in the upper left corner.

They were telling you that you should live instead of die. It was one of those subcutaneous messages. Or is it a cunnilingual message. I sometimes have trouble with these things.

I’m not sure who said it or when, but someone wanted to know when Omega and Riho would team in AEW, and it happened on the Jericho Cruise where they beat Joey Janela and Penelope in what was supposed to be a really good match. No word on if it will air anywhere. Probably just a special treat for the hardcore fans on the boat.

To those fans it definitely was. There’s a huge disconnect between what people here bitch about and what the AEW diehards want.

So what did everyone think?

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. O'Sullivan and some others over on the 'Dynamite' thread at WC said the show was garbage except for the Cody/MJF segment. I have it DVR'ed so I will probably check it out tomorrow night.

It wasn't garbage, but it wasn't anything special either. Once again the show seemed to fly by in real time, which is always a good sign.

The Cody-MJF segment was the strongest they've had since the early Jericho interviews where he was laying the foundation for the Inner Circle.  Really good stuff.  The rest of the show was absolutely fine.  If O'Sullivan and others son't like these types of matches then guess what, they're going to really be aggravated every single week so maybe they should just stop watching.  It's not changing.

This. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great, but damn if 2 hours didn't seem like 30 min..that's the best thing about AEW...

I notice this every week, as opposed to a WWE show.  Even NXT UK seems to drag and they're only an hour.  AEW flies by so they're clearly doing something right in terms of pacing that WWE hasn't figured out.

There was a hilarious example of why you should sometimes clue in your announcers last night. JR was trying to make a point that Stu Grayson was the only member of the Dark Order who doesn't wear a mask. All the while there are two other men in the ring who have just unmasked. Excalibur quickly added "Except John Silver." The other guy didn't even get acknowledged, but I think it was Alex Reynolds. Not sure what the point is in unmasking wrestlers who are so unknown that even Excaliber doesn't get excited about them.

They've explained all of that, even if JR might have not been paying attention.  Silver and Reynolds have been Dark Order pledges for a while now  It was not meant to be a surprise.

Last night's ratings:

AEW did 928,000, a 100,000 rise from last week. Did drop from #3 to #11 in the ratings, but the actual key demo rating was higher.

NXT did 770,000. Up about 50,000 from last week, although you would think Charlotte's presence might of lead to more of a bump than that.
