A day after some positive developments on Raw, which was written and approved well in advance, Vince showed up at SD! this afternoon and ordered a complete 100% re-write of the show. Matches announced online less than an hour earlier, including The O.C. vs. The New Day, were cancelled. As of an hour ago, as fans entered the building, the show wasn’t finalized yet. Even by WWE standards, this is a bit extreme. So let’s see what we get tonight.

Bischoff. But he just started last week officially. Heyman’s influence on Raw is about 3-4 weeks old.

Think he quits?

Is he still able to do his podcast going forward? It is pretty soild. Especially when he gets “in the weeds” about the numbers, tv production, and the advertising aspect. It is pretty interesting in my opinion. I know he thinks people do not want to hear that stuff, but that is what i enjoy.

Are the rosters separate or combined now?

I cut on and seeing this beatdown replay. This is absurd. It is way too much. Was too much in the ring, and then pulls out of an ambulance and continues? Cmon man. Too much.

He’s not going to quit after a few weeks.

The rosters are separate, but barely. They allow lots of cross-over now.

Bischoff still does his podcast, it drops every Monday morning. The rosters are separate, with each brand receiving 4 wildcards per episode, meaning any 4 wrestlers from the opposite brand can appear. I don't know why Bischoff would quit over this. He is a liaison between WWE and FOX. He is not involved with the creative process of Smackdown.

Eric said his start date was July 22. Think he said he was going  to attend his first production meeting this week and any influence or control he is going to have will be part of a long process.

For the second week in a row, Smackdown was heavily re-written, although not quite as bad as last week.  This time, changes were still being made an hour before they went live.  Kofi Kingston vs. Andrade was the announced main event, but of course that didn't happen.  There was also the big reveal that Erick Rowan may have been the one to drive the hummer, or something.  A planned announcement of Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan at Summerslam was scrapped to leave the angle hanging, so now neither has a Summerslam match official.  All of this was a last-minute Vince decision.  Raw has been much more stable with far fewer changes under Paul E.

Is anyone surprised that the senile old man couldn't resist interfering?  He will go after RAW next.  It doesn't matter if the booking has improved or not.  He will find a reason.   The other family members need to find a way to remove him from any decision making capacity.  That is difficult but not impossible.  IMO - both Bischoff and Heyman will either be gone by October or have greatly diminished roles.

Hopefully Vince will turn his attention to the XFL. But even if he does, it will only be for a couple of months since all of Vince's non wwe projects fail miserably.

Smackdown is going to Fox in a few weeks and that network has been concerned by the poor response by fans to the WWE product recently not to mention the general lack of momentum the WWE has in general right now. As a result, Vince McMahon is going to be much more involved with Smackdown than he has in years. His involvement will only increase as time goes on.

Meltzer is reporting that Vince was not at Smackdown this week due to XFL business, but that didn't stop him from tearing up the script yet again.  Via a conference call, Vince tore into everyone and re-wrote the show hours before doors opened, which has become more the norm than the exception the last 2 months.  One casualty was the Gable-Benjamin match, which was scheduled to go much longer and be more NXT style, and Vince chopped it down to nothing, which shows where those guys are in the pecking order.

On the other side, Vince seems very happy with Heyman on Raw.  Sasha Banks' show-opening promo was written and produced by Heyman and Vince left it alone. Vince still has plenty of input on Raw though too, but Heyman has been able to get a lot of his stuff in, and it shows.
