I’m losing interest really fast. The fake commercials are completely stupid and pointless. I was really hoping for more substance than this. Taping 2 months of shows at a time really isn’t helping either. Lots of fakey stagey hokey set up moves also. I’m expecting the same from AEW tonight. I really do think Tim Storm should be a heel and Josephus should be gone.

Getting this announcer involved and seemingly making him the heel when Aldis should be is puzzling. Even the studio fans were loudly ripping the announcer which actually was kind of humorous.I like the idea of turning Tim Storm heel. The fans love him but who are you going to turn him against ? Maybe make the announcer a heel manager and have him turn Storm ? I thought this episode was by far the weakest. I do like the former Damien Sandow. Is it just me or is Colt Cabana doing his best to make his matches into comedy skits ?

I love this show for presentation value and it's great to hear Jim Cornette on color commentary again. But the lead announcer blows dogs for quarters and the guy from Championship Wrestling from Hollywood that does the interviews sucks even worse. And the in ring product has gone down from week one to now. It's a shame, I think Billy has something here, but his execution is weak right now. I'm thinking it has to do with the bare bones roster along with poor scripting of the same roster. Some of this shit would work in WWE where it would be a very small part of a 3 hour show...but when you have a roster that's shorter than an NBA teams bench, and you throw this shit into the hour, it backfires horribly. I'm worried that this will run it's course sooner rather than later. When you announce a PPV, then put that show together, it really makes you look like nobody should buy your PPV.

As far as AEW goes, they actually DO need to tell some stories. At the minimum, let the guys that really can talk get on the mic. I'm sure that's the true problem, they just don't trust some of these guys on live TV with a mic. But in those cases, do the pretapes backstage and make it look like they were being interviewed on the way to the ring.

Agreed on all points.

For AEW, that promo Jericho cut introducing his team was awesome, but there was no follow-up.  I'd like to hear some of them speak now (except for Hager, who should never speak and just kick ass), or have some vignettes on them.  Sammy Guevara in particular.  Who is he and why should we care?  They can have Jericho involved to keep those segments moving and help out if Sammy gets lost.

Jake Hager should not say one word for at least a year, and when he does speak, it should be limited to a word here or there, the same way that they keep the mic out of Brock Lesnar's hands.  And Jericho should talk every single week.  You are spot on about Sammy Guevara too.  One thing I noticed - and don't like - is that too many of the AEW guys run around with their tongues wagging.  That's one thing about WWE that works...you have one guy with a gimmick, other guys don't use the same gimmick.  Guevara and the crazy eyes guy from LAX both were tongue wagging in the same interview segment!

I like Power and I don't mind the jobber matches but they need more substance. I really think Billy needs to add an additional competitive match to each episode on the next round of tapings. Do they have any time constraints? Is this airing on tv anywhere or just YouTube / Facebook? if not dropping another match in shouldn't be an issue.

Is there a specific reason as to why Dave Marquez is on the show or is it just as simple and Billy likes his work?

I'm sure Tim Storm is a hard worker but he needs to go; He is really looking his age.

Dave Marquez has been involved with the NWA for so many years at this point, he's just always around.  And he's well-liked and is the President of Champonship Wrestling from Hollywood and Arizona and has lots of contacts, so he's not going anywhere.

I'm still enjoying it. 3rd episode was the weakest but I'm not expecting to be blown away each week. I just like that it is about as close to what I enjoyed in my childhood as it will probably ever get.  There are some criticisms I have like any fan would of any show.  Doesn't matter.  It's an entertaining hour and that set is awesome for nostalgia.

I agree Doc. I hate the commercials and a couple other things but they seem to be trying to build some old fashioned storylines and it has yet to become a total flip flop fest. I like one solid move ending matches. Even if they are squashes.

I concur that putting on a competitive match once a week is a good idea.

This week was relatively weak but still enjoyable for me.

According to PWInsider, the debut episode of NWA Power got more than 500,000 views on YouTube, while the 3rd episode dropped to under 200,000 views.

That doesn't surprise me honestly.
I see a niche appeal for NWA but I am a part of the target audience.  :)

That's not some inside info, that's just the tally on the YouTube pages for the videos. These are total views since the video was posted, so it's natural that the older the show, the more views. Also, the show isnt amazing, so the downward trend is inevitable. Ep 2 is at about 290K for what it's worth.

Austin Idol advertising a date rape drug on a weekly NWA YouTube series. I don't think I would have predicted that one in January.
