This week it's a video game, and how are we supposed to know of the video game is real or not? Even among us here at S&W, the intelligentsia wrestling fans, we can't agree if it's real or not.
It looked to me like some fake graphics combined with a real clip of an old '80s game featuring The Road Warriors.  I can't imagine that this is a real game in 2019 that they actually are hoping people buy. Either way, it made Aldis look like a goof. If they absolutely had to do it, do it with Cabana who already has a comedy gimmick.

That game is very real and it tries to recreate both the visuals and gameplay from WWF Wrestlefest, an old arcade game with a cult following. It's been months since the game was advertised and it's going to be an oficial reléase on all major electronic computer devices. Yes, many dork kids today play and are into "retro" style videogames. It's a hip thing.

PWInsider:

Melissa “Thunder Rosa” Cervantes, who has appeared for Ring of Honor and Lucha Underground in the past and is in the middle of a push on NWA Powerrr, made her MMA debut tonight, losing via decision in a 3 round fight against Nadine Mandiau for Combate Americas in San Antonio, Texas. Mandiau won via unanimous decision with a 30-27 score from all of the judges.

Cervantes went to the distance despite suffering a cut to her face right above her nose over the course of the fight.

Overall, I like this product. Yes, there is some stupid shit but the overall presentation is decent. Not great. I like having real options now.

On tonight’s Power, Billy Corgan promised an announcement soon about “expanding our programming”. Interested to see what that may be about.

Good old school gimmick with a good old school porn mustache popping through that mask.

The National Wrestling Alliance PPV and TV tapings next month in Atlanta, GA are completely sold out.

Former WWE star Melina will debut on next week's episode of NWA Powerrr.

The NWA Women's Championship will be defended for the first time ever in Alaska at the 12/7 WrestlePro event in Anchorage at the Sullivan Arena. I believe this would also be the first time a NWA title has been defended in The Last Frontier since a Lou Thesz NWA World title defense in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1957, so it's been over 60 years. For more details, visit http://www.WrestleProOnline.com.

Scheduled for next week's NWA Powerrr episode:

*Ken Anderson vs. Eli Drake.

*NWA National Champion Colt Cabana vs. Ricky Starks.

*Also appearing are NWA Champion Nick Aldis, Kamille, James Storm, Aron Rex, The Question Mark and more.\

I liked this week. Still some goofy stuff that needs to go like the question mark and Aaron Stevens or whatever. But I do like the episodic build. They need to tighten that up somewhat...meaning the story telling aspect. You still don’t know who is a face or heel for the most part. But I think I kinda like that they are tying to setup some intrigue and anticipation even if it is not fully being realized.

And the wrestling has some bright spots even if it is designed to be a modern take on a squash. The Trevor Murdoch match I liked. They sold! And sold a basic body slam! As it should be. Watching AEW while typing this and the flip flopping and standing around waiting on the opponent to do their move is driving me nuts.

On last week's #NWAPowerrr, NWA President William Patrick Corgan (aka Billy Corgan) teased an announcement that would open the envelope for talents to be a part of the National Wrestling Alliance.

Today, the National Wrestling Alliance and Lightning One announce a new series that will join NWA Powerrr and Ten Pounds Of Gold… The new show is called The Circle Squared.

This series will allow new talents an opportunity to put their money where their mouth is to get a chance to earn an NWA Talent contract. This competition show allows talents selected to step up to the circle of the podium to exhibit their talents on the microphone before stepping into the square of the ring to show their physical abilities in a wrestling match. The key to making the NWA roster and eventually NWA Powerrr will be in these talents ability to connect with the the live audience in Atlanta and the audience watching all over the world. The ultimate winner of The Circle Squared will earn an National Wrestling Alliance contract.

The first episodes of NWA’s The Circle Squared will be recorded over the weekend of December 14th-16th in Atlanta, GA at GPB Studios. There will NOT be an in-person open call for this show. Only those talents selected from email submissions will be invited to Atlanta. Those selected will be emailed next steps and more information.

Eh, this is a major announcement along the lines of Dixie Carter.  With all the indy talent out there, almost all signed somewhere already, I'm not sure what kind of quality you can expect from a casting call of wrestlers looking to "prove themselves" to the NWA.

That seems pretty weak, they should be waiting and watching to make a play on some of the E talent that may be hitting the open market.

Eh, I don't know if that's what they need either.  I don't know if any of those guys are right for the NWA.  I think a guy like Simon Gotch might fit in well if they can poach him from MLW.  Someone of that type.  Technically proficient, not demanding a lot of money (obviously), and a little bit of a name that doesn't have the stench of recent WWE failure.  But everyone has some kind of contract these days.
