For almost 24 straight hours now, #CancelWWENetwork is trending top 10 in the U.S.

I don't get it. Is there a public outcry to cancel the Network?

Wow, but not that surprising given the bizarre booking in the main event.  The more I think about it, it seems like WWE now cares a heck of a lot more about their tv show on FOX than they do their PPV's.  If that is true, it's a scenario that is turned completely upside down compared to just a few years prior.  The tv shows used to be a commercial/advertisement for the PPV.

No, the shows are just as horrible.

Also, I re-watched the main event when I got home today.  I can't remember the last time I heard an audience respond that way during the last 10 min of the match and of course completely lose it at the end.

Which is the way it should be. The TV shows should always be commercials for something that people pay extra to watch. PPVs are replaced by a subscription to the Network, but Fox is still over the air free television. Hell, the model has been the same for 30 years. The Clash of the Champions shows were always commercials for an upcoming PPV. Raw and Nitro were essentially pimping the next big PPV coming up.

Oh, I'm not saying they are good, but they brought in Hulk, Austin, Rock, Undertaker, Sting, Foley, etc. for a tv show.  Meanwhile, I'm watching Orton vs. Ali on a double branded PPV last night with no backstory that I was aware of.

Agreed, but look what they're doing now.  The Crown Jewel main event is essentially a Survivor Series match happening like 3 weeks before Survivor Series.  It's like they don't care at all about the PPV's right now.

The different this time was the smarky chants (as loud as the AEW stuff was) was drowned out by all 20,000 fans chanting “Restart the Match” in a very un-smart plea for a finish that made sense. That’s something everyone could relate to, from the 10-year olds to the casual fans to the Attitude Era holdouts. They weren’t trying to be funny, they were pissed.

Eventually Nitro became more important than the PPV’s and the model flipped. People were paying for an informercial for Nitro.

I haven't watched the network in weeks, only because I haven't had the time, plus my Samsung TV no longer supports it. I have to hook up my laptop to watch, which is a pain in the ass.

I have a 4 year old 80” Samsung and was super pissed when WWE said it was “old” and wouldn’t support the Network anymore. I had to bring out my old Roku, and there’s been a lot of buffering issues since. It ran so smoothly when it was on my TV.
