Meltzer is reporting that Vince has had a change of heart, or he’s been beaten down by repeated bad publicity from disgruntled talent, and he’s ready to let select talents leave if they want to. Specifically he will grant releases to those he thinks won’t go to AEW or, if they do, won’t be very valuable to them. This group probably includes Jordan Myles and Sin Cara but perhaps not Mike Kanellis and Luke Harper, although it’s hard to say what goes through Vince’s head. Other less publicized release requests from underutilized talents could be granted too, so there could be some surprises.

Vince should release everyone from the main rosters that wants to go. it is the best thing for his product.

On the flip side if Vince released 30 people today AEW, MLW, ROH and NJPW couldn’t and wouldn’t sign every one of them to lucrative long term deals so it’s not like they are gone forever.

If Vince wanted Stink Cara, he would just put another person under the hood. He already did it once. But, he doesn’t want him anymore because Rey Rey is back. Then when he leaves again, Vince will scream GET ME ANOTHER MASKED GUY, DAMMIT!

At least Vince has only done that once. In Mexico it’s done all the time. Trying to figure out the difference between L.A. Park, La Parka, La Parka Jr., and El Hijo de L.A. Park requires a Masters degree.

You're not wrong. Lucha is hard to follow if you aren't paying very very close attention. The original Sin Cara was the more famous Mistico, but Hunico, aka the current Sin Cara, was also a lesser known Mistico in a smaller Mexican fed in the past. The original Sin Cara left the WWE, but when he went back to Mexico, he wasn't allowed to use the Mistico gimmick, because the gimmick was given to one of Rush's brothers, who had previously wrestled as Dragon Lee. The Dragon Lee gimmick was then given to a third brother, who is the current Dragon Lee. The original Sin Cara used the name Myzteziz when he went back to Mexico, but is now Caristico.

I knew about 60% of that, but I had to look up the rest. This happens with every fucking gimmick in Mexico.

The non-WWE scene is nothing like it was some years ago. I don't think you can get anything like good money without putting in some commitment. You can't get bookings on random indies just by being a "name" and hope to make a living. All these secondary promotions (AEW, MLW, Impact, NWA, NJPW etc) want some kind of commitment and exclusivity. And if you have a shitty attitude, it's very difficult to get booked. Look at Ryback, Enzo, Big Cass, Wade Barrett... Their heart isn't in wrestling, and they don't get booked. I remember in the 90s, Greg Valentine, King Kong Bundy, Jim Brunzell and many others would work indies every weekend, going over the home talent and never working any angles or programs. Those days are over.

As I said in the AEW thread, Shawn Spears is a lucky, lucky boy. Much better wrestlers than him will struggle to get a deal nearly as good.

Oney Lorcan, aka the former Biff Busick, requested a WWE release at the end of last month, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources.

Lorcan, who teamed with Danny Burch in WWE NXT and 205 Live, has not yet been granted.

Lorcan was signed by WWE in September 2015 after strong runs in EVOLVE, Beyond Wrestling and CZW, among other companies.

Lorcan has reverted back to his former ring name, Biff Busick, on social media, but has not publicly commented on the matter.

Pretty surprised by that. Lorcan was doing double-duty as a top contender for the Cruiserweight title on 205 Live and as part of a tag team with Burch on NXT. He has no charisma and no look, so I felt they were using him well all things considered. He was certainly getting TV time unlike many of the others who are unhappy.

Meltzer says that Kairi Sane's contract is ending soon and she is showing little interest in re-signing even though WWE wants her to.  She hasn't been happy with WWE but is also homesick and will likely return to Japan, although a good offer from AEW to join Riho and that crew could tempt her.

Asuka's deal ends at the same time but Meltzer says she's likely to stay despite her diminished push and she has adjusted to America better.

That would be a bummer if Sane left, her tag team with Asuka is one of the few things I try and watch.

I think Lorcan is over playing his hand if he thinks he can do better wrestling business outside of the E at the moment. I like his tag team with Burch but it’s not a money maker nor is he.

Vince will just put Io Shirai in her place and continue as if nothing has happened.

WWE has agreed to release Sin Cara but Oney Lorcan has said that he’s signed a new 3-year deal. So 2 of the disgruntled talents have been dealt with one way or another.

Luke Harper has announced his release.

A few years ago, these two announcements would have had some on the roster throwing their phones into the river. Tonight, there will be wrestlers staring at their phones waiting for the call.

The Ascension has been campaigning for months to be sent back to NXT like Tyler Breeze since they weren’t being used in WWE. They hadn’t even asked for their releases from what I heard.
