Other than Mauro dropping random references on his own, they paid no attention to Liger’s retirement so I’m surprised. I really wanted to see them bring in Liger once more as part of his retirement tour, but they couldn’t be bothered.

They are a cheesy TV show loosely based on pro wrestling. Of course, AEW didn't do anything for Liger either.

The only guy not in now is Jefe Mesa Redondo I think. His nickname was Mr. 5x5 because he was as wide as he was tall.

LoL.  I don't even remember where he wrestled , saw the name in an early 60's wrestling mag I have somewhere in my collection. An online search returns nothing, the name always stuck with me.

The celebrity this year should be Cyndi Lauper.  Also the annual African-American should be Slick.

He'll get in when Eduardo Miguel Perez gets in.

Finally

Former WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion Davey Boy Smith will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this April at Wrestlemania 36. The news was first reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

PWInsider.com has independently confirmed the news. The entire Hart family is slated to travel to Tampa, Florida to be in attendance for the induction.

Smith, who passed away in 2002 at the age of 39, was one half of the British Bulldogs tag team with the late Dynamite Kid in the mid and late-1980s before returning to WWF in the early 1990s as a singles star with the company's European expansion built around Bulldog. He would later become a member of the Hart Foundation in the late 1990s before returning for one final run from 1999 to 2000. Smith also had several runs in WCW, including a main event push teaming with Sting in the early 1990s and one during the Nitro era where he joined Bret Hart after the Montreal Screwjob.

At his height, Smith was a hell of a performer and historically, was a massively important piece of WWE's international growth, including headlining Summerslam '92 at Wembley Stadium against Bret Hart, WWE's first-ever exclusive specials for Sky TV (including the Battle Royal at Royal Albert Hall) and headlining WWE's first UK-Only PPV against Shawn Michaels.

The news will likely be "officially broken" by WWE in some capacity in the weeks to come.

I’ve always lobbied for the British Bulldogs to go in as a team, but in reality their “body of work” was pretty short (early ‘85 to end of ‘88?). Less than four years. Davey Boy really did do quite a bit on his own for an entire decade after that, so this makes sense. And they can’t put Dynamite in for all of the other obvious reasons.

Davey's work after the Bulldogs is very mediocre, though. Yeah, he had that main event in London for SummerSlam 92, but everything about that match down to Bret. Smith was so messed up that he disappeared after a TV taping on Jul 20 and didn't wrestle again until Wembley over a month later. From Bret's book, he guaranteed Vince that the match go ahead, otherwiseit would have been cancelled. I think pretty much every push Davey got after that was also a favor to Bret.  I get why he is going in, probably another favor to Bret as well, and I know the WWE HOF is bs in a world of kayfabe, but I really don't rate him post the Bulldogs. He was also a horrible promo.
