That’s probably the least interesting name it could’ve been. I assume he’s stuck in the US and needs somewhere to work until travel restrictions end.

A few years back I trolled him on some Facebook wrestling group to the point he threatened real life harm on me until I was banned by them.

It was weird that he was a somewhat of a name in AJPW, but he was never given a send-off in 2019 after the World Tag League. He worked all the tours in All Japan and was with the company for 12 years., averaging around 75 matches a year for them. Also, Doering is from Windsor and I think he still lives there.
His last match was this until his appearance in IMPACT.

AJPW Real World Tag League 2019 - Day 19 2019/12/09 @ Korakuen Hall in TokyoTokyo (Japan)
Joe Doering and Jun Akiyama defeated Daisuke Sekimoto and Tsugataka Sato (9:02 minutes)

Did he really leave AJPW though or is he coming back after the pandemic?  Plus, he already left once before when he signed a WWE Developmental contract that went nowhere, so if he left again it’s probably not as big news as the first time.

Doering would've been on the AJPW New Year Wars tour starting on 1/2/20.
