Hearing that the card had it's hit and misses due to no crowd being there ( for the most part). The Ibushi/White match to close out the card as incredible.

I just finished watching it. It was almost the opposite problem as WWE. Every match was a 20+ minute classic with several being 30+ minutes and the last match being 45+ minutes. All tremendous wrestling, but the same style. I found it impossible to stay focused. It's all a blur just minutes after watching it because it was all so similar. Even the jr. heavy matches aren't really different from everything else now. It gets to the point where you're begging Toru Yano to come out a do a comedy spot after the 6th hour. As far as wrestling action goes though, it was unparalleled for 8 straight hours of nothing but wrestling. They made Kota Ibushi on these 2 nights and put him at the Okada/Naito level, and Takagi vs. Cobb was the unexpected show-stealer. There were plenty of fans there, not like a usual Tokyo Dome show of course but still many, but they weren't allowed to open their mouths to make noise (seriously!) so it was quieter than an empty arena show. The science behind that proclamation is dubious at best, but imagine getting a few thousand Americans together and telling them it's forbidden to open their mouths. Jay White has supposedly quit NJPW following his loss at Wrestle Kingdom, although that could certainly be an angle. But this is also the time when contracts expire, so you never know.

How do yo guys watch New Japan? NJ World? Everything I see says the app is terrible and hard to find anything but the most recent events.

The NJ World site is an abomination that there is no excuse for in this global economy that we all live in. Why they can’t toss a few thousand dollars to an American website developer I have no idea.

Soon NJPW will be back on American TV somewhere. They announced it a few days ago. I'm assuming it will be one of the OWN or ROKU, due to the Purple background.

enjoyed this very much. okada/osprey, hiromu/elp and ibushi/naito were by far the best matches of night 1. hiromu/ishimori was great on night two, but i think cobb/shingo was better. by far, jay white v kota ibushi was match of the event. best match i have seen since walter v dragunov last october. just awesome, and i was not a big jay white fan before.

Rumor is that Jay will take a few months off and come back and start a huge babyface push. Heard that on the New Years Dash show, he got applause when he tagged in for the first time.

That promo sets up a departure if needed. Either way, he'll be taking time off.
