He just posted this on Instagram this morning.  So not only does WWE not own their own network anymore, they also have zero say on what can be shown.

Just posted the story seconds before you. That’s not true, it went through Austin and Vince, not Peacock.

I think he absolutely is cashing out, and I think he’s going all in on making the transition to Peacock work so that they buy the whole company. I really do. And I’m willing to bet that so far very few people have committed to watching Network on Peacock.

Paul Simon just sold his music library to Sony for something like $60M and Vince doesn't have as many ways to leave his lover, so I can see it. It's more like a Ding Dong Ditch except Peacock's going to clean the fiery bag of poo instead of stamp it out.

Bob Dylan got $400 million. I haven’t seen any reliable info on how much Simon got, but $60 million seems possible.

Financial terms of Simon’s deal were not disclosed. Dylan is believed to have taken in around $300 million for his songs, though that figure was never confirmed.

Paul Simon is getting WAY MORE THAN 60 million if he gave up his complete catalog

Maybe. He’s no Dylan though, and I don’t know if it includes his biggest hits with Simon & Garfunkel or just the solo stuff. I didn’t follow the story that closely.

I was only half-listening to the news report so "something like 60 Million" ranges between 80 bucks and 800 billion. You can call me Al...Alotoffoftherealtotal.

I hate that fucking song with a passion. That and “Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard” are 2 of the most obnoxious songs.

These days Me and Julio would get scrubbed for the punishment described.   I do like this version from Sesame Street where before Simon even starts his lyrics, a girl freestyles her own version.

I like Late in the Evening. Even though the dirty hippie steps outside and smokes himself a J.

I hope Paul Simon got as much money as he possibly could if he indeed sold. I'm almost 50 and couldn't give a rat's ass about his music, and I can't imagine anyone younger than me caring. I vaguely recall 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover playing in the car when I was in kindergarten. It's a shitty, niche song. All of the music from that era and that genre (folk/60's to mid 70s) has aged horribly. The way tastes and music as a whole have changed, there's got to be very, very, very little market for anything like that now and the market only grows smaller as people die off.

There's certain music that will stand up over the course of time: the Beatles, Stones, some Elvis, Michael Jackson. Paul Simon's not in that group (all IMHO of course).
