There is a youtube video with Denucci & Rivera taking on The Blackjacks.  This is the one in which a mini-riot broke out at the Hamburg taping after the match.  It was not shown on TV.

I got a few questions, since many of you are video & tape experts:

Has this video been around for awhile?

Was this released by the WWF or was it produced from somebody's collection?

Why were Denucci and Rivera facing The Blackjacks with the titles not being on the line?  Was this a setup for the title match?  If so, Rivera must have left right after this match took place.  What was the time span between this match and the time when The Blackjacks actually won the titles from Denucci and Barrett?  It seems like an odd sequence in terms of time and events.

This is the footage if anyone wants to see it by the way - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wsIvtHyxes

It's definitely from someone's collection and not something WWF has reaired. If I've worked it out correctly they had Hamburg tapings on these dates in 1975 so the match took place on one of these dates:

May 14 (Denucci/Rivera won belts the day before this)
June 4
June 25
July 16
August 6 (Rivera was already gone before this taping)
Blackjacks then won the belt on August 26

The voiceovers (coming up at ______) lead me to believe that the footage actually aired in 1980

There were voiceovers?

Albano was great taking some of those shots.

I've had this match for years and I'm not even a serious collecter so I figured most of you guys would have had it. This match is all kinds of awesome for the sheer violence that was so rare for WWWF TV. McHugh and Weber the ref look scared shitless on the closing signoff shot. I think this match was 15 years ahead of its time with the multiple chairshots and liberal use of tables and ring steps. Even DeNucci was exciting here.

The copy I have of this in the voiceovers they talk about (going off of memory) Larry Zbyszko "having the wrestling world buzzing" which leads me to believe they aired this thing in 1980. For whatever reason WWWF TV from 1980 there isn't a whole lot of it out there.

That would be odd showing that match in 1980???  Hmmm.

That would have had to be a build-up to the title change.  Rivera was still in the picture.  You would wonder why they didn't just make that match the title change, unless Rivera did not notify them that he was sticking around until after this match.

Might have been some sort of "MSG Spotlight" type of thing, used to fill air time during a rain delay or early ending sporting event.

Just a guess, mind you.

Yes you have the Hamburg TV taping dates correct.

That still seems like a quick turnaround, even though changes did take place fast back then.

I wonder how far they booked ahead?

No indication that it was a "Spotlight" airing but that does seem to make alot of sense.

How do we know for sure it didn't air when it was first done?  It definitely was aired in the '80s as that is how most people got this match.

The part at the end with the All Star Wrestling graphic, makes me think, as someone else mentioned, that this was a tape of an actual broadcast from 1975 and not an MSG Spotlight type broadcast from a later date.
