Yes, friends, now there shall be prizes.  Each "winner" of Name That Ballplayer! will receive points toward a monthly prize, TBD.

Previous games do not count - this is the real thing and not practice now.  First the rules.  There are 10 clues regarding a ballplayer from the past, and a photo of said player that is blacked out.  With the revelation of each clue after the first a section is revealed.  Players may ask questions to help them toward their goal of guessing the player in under 10 clues.  The answer to those questions will be given at the judge's (me) discretion - you'll catch on as to what that means soon enough.  The number of clues given before a correct guess corresponds to the amount of points awarded on a 10=1, 9=2, etc. scale.

There is only one winner per round and only one player receives points each round.

Stay tuned - this week's game starts shortly!

You're getting warmer, but no.

Think about the phrase "I could catch in a pinch"

I've made this harder.  There are clues, riddles, double-meanings...etc.

Did/does he play for the Red Sox?

Yes, he did play for the Red Sox.

Note - the goal of this game for me has changed - not to stump completely, but to make difficult and challenging.

Someone has to win, it can't be a 4 way tie at 0 points.

In which era does/did he play?

The modern era.  That's the best I'm going to share.

It's time for another clue, since the game's rolling along...

1.  I could catch in a pinch.

2.  If only my combined career stats could have been one season, I might have lasted longer in the bigs.
