Here's a sports trivia game to try. The rules are we start with a sports trivia question (any sport) and the first person to respond with the correct answer then asks the next question. If it goes well we can keep track in the form of standings of whose been answering the most questions correct. The poster who answers the most questions every week and is on top of the standings could win a prize of some sort. I don't have anything to offer as a prize so maybe that can be a working progress. Bragging rights I guess. Okay here is the first question: What two teams played in the worst blowout in Super Bowl history, and what was the final score?

Winner of one Grand Slam tournament, this tennis player died in 1994 due to accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. He once uttered the humorous line "Nobody beats (insert name)17 times in a row!" after finally beating Jimmy Connors.

Ray Guy went his entire career having only two punts blocked. Who blocked them?

No clue, but Guy's official site credits three blocks.

Then I'll withdraw the question. The only two I knew of were by Godwin Turk of the Broncos and Fred MacNeil of the Vikings. Substitute question: This player took the place of an injured star in his team's starting lineup and scored more than 40 points in each of his first 3 NBA starts. He promptly went back to the bench after this. Hint: His son now plays in the NBA.

Great guess, but no. Further hint: the team he played for was absorbed from the ABA.

carpetbeggar wrote: Ron Brewer? Nailed it. Brewer took over for George "Ice" Gervin who, at the time, got probably 40% of the shots in the Spurs offense. The Spurs gave Brewer the same number of touches Gervin would have normally gotten and he went nuts for his three game run.

Wow, I wasn't 100% sure on that one, but I think I remembered George Gervin missing the games first. That was hard. Okay, in the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid, The U.S. hockey team won the gold medal. What team did they defeat to win the gold medal?
