Cultural divide, I know, but every time you post I feel like I need to ask what in the hell you're talking about.

Not to pile on or anything...

What the hell is a velodrome, what the hell is a pipette, and since when is 'ace' an adjective?

"Ace" is even used here sometimes, even I'm not that bad.

Here?  Where you are maybe.  Not here.  We're still on "bitchin'".

Well no one in NY is walking the streets saying "The Giants are ace" (at least not if they don't want to get beat with a tire iron), but it's certainly a slang that is recognizable in the U.S. now.

Well I thank you for the enlightenment.  I'll stay in California if leaving it means I have to hear all that fruity shit

Occasionally bits of British slang make it to the US.  I understand wanking is now becoming popular Stateside.

Mind you, given WATP has been out over a year, maybe I ought to change it to Those Dancing Days.

And everyone knows that The Pipettes were the ring rats that used to blow Roddy Piper after a coke binge.

my favorite is cowboy "ace" orton.

1. "We Are The Pipettes" (the album of 2006).

2. 5 teenage Swedish girls who make perfect music.

my pick also...just an incredible team-first attitude, they are even better this year and just wait until they add a veteran or two (Joe Smith, Stephon Marbury come to mind)

Team of the year: NY Giants. Great playoff run in Jan following 2007 season followed with Super Bowl upset victory followed with a top seed in NFC after 2008 season. Eli's become a top-tier NFL QB, the running game is awesome, and they've overcome several (Plax) debacles.
