At least AJ Ramos got to enjoy some of his last night with the Miami Marlinsbefore the club traded him to the New York Mets.
Hours before Ramos was shipped to the Big Apple, the 30-year-old right-hander caught a ceremonial first pitch from professional wrestling legend Ric Flair.
Ramos was so excited about the meeting he performed Flair's vintage strut and WOOOOOO! call.

To be the man ... you should at least get the ball to home plate

That was embarrassing, especially when he tried a 2nd time. He did better than 50 Cent at least.

That was brutal. I played baseball as a kid and still throw the ball around now with my little guy. I'm still probably 25 years younger than Flair, so I appreciate the age gap. However, I can't imagine somebody could ever *forget* how to throw a baseball. Looks like he's never played catch in his life. You have to step and throw. Blows me away that this guy was an amazing, amazing athlete and could do things I could never dream of doing in the ring, but he can't throw a baseball.

So many people seem to really embarrass themselves doing this. You would think they would spend some time the night before playing catch at 60 feet and 6 inches. Dubya for all his shortcomings as president sure threw the rock like a man. And another thing, was this done two hours before game time? There are like 50 people in the stands.

Good first pitch:

Bad first pitch:

A LOT of people never really play baseball. it really is 50/50 kind of thing and has been for years. it has not been America's past time since the 60's for all practical purposes. Football grabbed that mantle and basketball certainly became much more popular for many.

Personally I hated it. Mainly because I could not see shit and that is how is I learned that. But I loved football, and could always catch and throw a football decently, mainly because I could see the damn ball. Oh well.

To be fair to Flair, wrestling is all he knows.

Not playing baseball and not knowing how to throw a ball are two very different things.  No one asked Flair to explain the infield fly rule, he just needed to not treat the baseball like it was a shot put.
