I suppose it really didn't hurt the World Champion, since it only showed him to be a bit of a dupe and buffoon, and not someone's punching bag in the actual squared circle. Still, as a Flair fan this is humiliating. On the other hand, I've been watching lots of J.J. Dillon's mic work with the Horsemen so at the moment I have a deep appreciation for just how fucking good he was at telling a story and just how perfect he was as manager of the Horsemen. Only Bobby Heenan would have approached Dillon's performances during that era and he wouldn't have had the proper amount of gravitas to make it work like J.J. did at the height of Yuppie era.

I don't think this 'hurt' Flair much but sets up 'Garvin vs Flair' very well (which Flair wins anyway)

In terms of a 'wrestling skit', I love it

Who dressed in drag in more wrestling angles than Ronnie Garvin? Does anyone give him a run for the money? Maybe Baron Von Raschke?

Yeah when he asks Flair if he can watch, always thought that was a little creepy.

What do you mean 'Garvin vs. Flair'?  Because this angle came about after Flair defeated Jimmy Garvin in a cage match to win the services of Precious for a night.  It did set up Flair vs. Ronnie Garvin, which, of course Flair did not win.

I was thinking this set up the Flair vs Garvin (Jimmy) GAB Cage Match -- or do I have the timeline wrong?

That was the best part!  JJ was just a total creep and it made it even funnier when he took the bump into the pool.  Because that's what you do to a creepy old fuck, throw him in the pool.

The Jimmy Garvin vs Flair Cage Match set up the date. The Date set up the Ronnie Garvin vs Flair cage match.
