Here it is!. I have never seen this before. I think it was a rarity in tape trading circles. It is everything I ever thought it would be.

We start off with the melodious voice of the Fink giving the matches for the next Garden card. Some good matches. Maybe I'll buy a ticket. I have to laugh at when they introduce Remus as "from South Carolina", all the idiot New Yorkers give a huge pop like he's a local boy or something. Sarge comes in with Terry "Stolen Valor" Daniels leading the way. Gene Mean was a really good play by play guy. Sheiky tries to blade about three minutes in on the exact spot that Slaughter bladed against Patterson in the Bunk House Match. A slingshot into the corner. You could see Khosrow run the blade across his forehead but no dice. Slaughter takes a SICK bump out of the ring. Sheiky hits Sarge fairly stiffly with one of those 75lb. MSG chairs. Sarge I think tried to blade but nothing even though Gorilla said that he did. The tide turns as Khos goes out of the ring and Remus hits him stiffly with the garrison belt. The crowd is collectively loosing their shit. There's a pin attempt outside the ring and poor Dick Kroll has to get off his comfy chair and get down on that filthy floor and count. Slaughter gets slammed into the turnbuckle and FINALLY he gets some juice. Sarge obviously has no problem going deep because this cut is nearly as bad as the Patterson match. Gene Mean actually says "Man's inhumanity to man". The "This is awesome" chant should have been invented here. In a homage to Dan Chernau, Gene says that Sarge is "wearing the Crimson Mask". Remus jumps off the top rope and nails Vaziri with a boot. Sheik trys REALLY hard to blade and is finally successful. This becomes a Dory Funk Sr. vs. Ciclon Negro type bloodbath. This is the greatest thing I've ever seen. Sheik throws a suplex that would have killed Brock Lesnar. He takes his boot off but Sarge clotheslines him which they call the "Slaughter Cannon". Bob hits Khosrow with his own boot and it's the 1-2-3. This match was worth waiting 36 years to see. I'd like to see Mojo Rawley try this.

The full MSG show was on my old Youtube channel back in 2015 and also on the newer one that I had up until a few days ago.

The match is also on my Classic Rivalries 4: Slaughter vs. Sheik, Volkoff DVD set I released 2 years ago.
If anyone ever needs a copy just PM me.

My question is what did that Egbert Larose fucker do that he had to report to 5th floor security?
If you're out of jail Egbert and still among the living the people need to know.

I remember watching this live, and on replay, on the MSG Network. A lot of people either don’t realize or weren’t paying attention - but Slaughter/Sheik was a better draw in 1984 than Hogan/anybody. Not a knock on Hulk, it’s just that Sarge’s run at the top just printed money. He was as hot as any wrestler short term that I had seen at that time, and the intensity of this feud still resonates with me. When comparing eras, this feud is the one I use for that time frame. I absolutely loved this match.

This is a good question. I have to go with Sheik/Slaughter because there was alot more going on then the punch, kick, whip the belt of the Patterson match. Plus I felt the crowd was hotter for the Sheik match too. Both fit in a Top 10 MSG matches though which is certainly a testament to Bob Remus.

Sarge worked his ass off in the Garden.  Didn't matter when or against whom, his Garden matches always had a bit extra.  Like he knew he had to perform for the crowd.

My guess, Larose sneezed in Vince's earshot and Strongbow stooged him out.

I liked Sarge vs Patterson better.

Liked the buildup 'Cobra Clutch challenge' better. Prefer Patterson in the ring as opposed to The Iron Sheik. Sarge better as a babyface though.

The difference to me is that Sarge got over as not your typical cowardly heel in the Street Fight with Patterson. Too tough to quit...he was already that when he fought Iron Sheik. In the Patterson match if he had quit like a "cowardly heel" it would have been kind of not surprising...but having to have Wiz throw in the towel because he wouldn't quit with that gusher and no chance to win, that said something about him that was new.

That's why I like the Patterson series better. I do like both though.
