Everyone ready for a bizarre Backlund result?  Try this on for size:

WAR 3rd Anniversary Show
July 7, 1995
Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan
Attendance: 9,000

Bob Backlund/Jimmy Snuka/Mil Mascaras beat Hector Garza/The Eliminators in 18:08 when Mascaras pinned Garza

I would love to see this match.  Anyone think that any of these guys was willing to take the corkscrew plancha or Total Elimination?

That tag match in Japan does sound interesting.

The old Amarillo territory in those days was loaded.  Young Backlund, Hansen and Murdoch, along with the Funks?  Wow!

Looks like Backlund had a nice run of going over during that late 1992 time-period.  I don't see a loss.

I don't think he lost at all when he came back until Razor Ramon pinned him at Wrestlemania 9. It was all downhill for a while after that until his heel turn. I remember being bummed out at how his push ended abruptly that day. I had never seen him pinned before.
