I had a great time with Claw and Redman today as we had lunch with Sharon Luce and her son Bob Jr.
Of course Sharon is the wife of old time Chicago promoter Bob Luce and wrestled quite a bit herself back in the day.

It sounds like she is going to be having some kind of sale or something of some of Bob's wrestling collection some time soon. If she does I'm sure Claw and I will be there.

Great gal. Still look real good and sharp as a tack. Too many stories to remember right now. I'll post some here tomorrow.

Bob Luce was involved in wrestling for years. First as a writer for Wrestling Life magazine. Then as an announcer and promoter. I grew up watching Bob Luce Wrestling on Channel 44 every Sunday at noon. Luce was a Chicago institution. So meeting his wife and son today was a dream come true.

Bob's wife wrestled as Sharon Lass. Once she married Bob, he only let her wrestle on the shows he had a hand in promoting. Sharon was very forthcoming with information. Never once talked down to us.

A friend of mine is working on a book about the life of Dick The Bruiser. That's why I started the Bruiser record book in the results forum. And today my friend invited Chi Town Rich and myself to lunch with Sharon and her son. It was a fascinating afternoon to be sure. Her son really isn't a huge wrestling fan. He was just accompanying his mother for lunch. We could have asked Sharon questions all day. The 90 minute lunch just flew by.

A really classy lady.

Actually Claw has better table manners than Blassie.

Anyway Claw started a post on another forum. I'll use that one for this subject.

Great to hear, Claw.

Bob Luce has to be one of the most 'unique' voices in wrestling history.

Agree with everything so far.

Sharon brought some really old stuff from the 50's to give to Redman. All of it was in scrapbook form and was in mint condition. Sounded to me like she is going to have some kind of sale for her husband's wrestling collection.

I almost cried when she said that she had shredded tons of old correspondence of his and almost all of the information and paperwork of The Chicago Wrestling Club which is the name of the Gagne-Bruiser-Snyder joint promotion that they owned together.

Very nice lady and I'm thinking she has to be in her mid 70's and she really looks to be in great shape both mentally and physically. She was telling us a ton of stories. Trying to remember some to post here.

A quick search for Bob Chinn's online says their website has "dangerous downloads" on it.  Their other top search term is that they closed in January for apparent food poisoning.  This topic is going viral -quite literally.

Very good place to eat. I wouldn't say great. But very good. Traffic was nothing getting to where Rich lives by Comiskey Park and coming home from there. But the traffic on the way back to Rich's place from Bob Chinns was a bitch. Glad Rich was driving.

I love Chicago and the suburbs. Grew up there. But I'm glad I live in the sticks because there's no traffic at all.
