This is a long shot but I'd thought see if anyone could help with a date.  From the people involved I'm pretty sure it would be a Jack Pfeffer card from the early 40's.  Maybe in Washington.  The matches are

1) Karol Krauser vs Chief Bamba Tabu (Yaqui Joe)

2) Olga Baranoff vs. Hanka Kavetzka

3) Four Man battle Royal; Bobby Bruns, John Melas, Prince Emir Jo Jo and Tabu (again I think)

I haven't come across a card that had that group in the battle royal.  I'm guessing all the matches are from the same card and I'd like to be able to date it if possible.  Thanks.

If you find nothing here, you might check the WC Thez forum.  Its where the old timey historians hang out.

I've searched the WAWLI pages and Hornbaker's site but haven't had any luck.  I'll post at WC if nothing turns up here.  I know there are a few results collectors here and thought I try it first.

I can find a main event for December 17, 1941 in Philadelphia that has Tabu vs. Krauser.

It's an AP result, so the rest of the card isn't listed.

wrong one, I'll look more into my D.C. clippings.  Ill scan the end of 1941 into 1942 for Washington DC and upload them to my DC site.

I do show this match

February 23, 1942
Olga Baranoff beat Hanka Kavetzka
ref = Jack Sharkey

I'll have to check when I get home tonight and see if the ref looks like Sharkey.

I will upload the clippings for Washington D.C. from December 1941 through April 1942.   In those clippings I have scanned over you will see a picture of Sharkey as the ref, in case you needed a image of him from this time period also for better verification to match up with what you do have.

Could their be a chance that the matches you do have are from various dates?  I also like Hammer to fall have a December match, mine is from Washington and hers is from the next night in Philadelphia:

December 16, 1941  Washington, D.C.
Karol Krauser vs Chief Bamba Tabu

But according to the papers here, Prince Emir Jo Jo debuts on February 16, 1942 against Ivan Komaroff in Washington.

And the match of the girls is from February 23, 1942 for a Washington match up.

They could be different dates.  They are on an 8mm film I just purchased.  It's silent so I can't get hints from an announcer.  It has intercards but there is a lot of liberty with spellings.  It starts with Krauser/Tabu, Baranoff/Kavetzka and then the Battle Royal.  I think it's Tabu again in the Battle Royal but he is only identified as The Indian.  I'll check again to see if it's Sharkey reffing.

Here is two links to my washington DC site.

http://superstarbillygraham.net/cities/washington/html/1941.html

http://superstarbillygraham.net/cities/washington/html/1942.html

If a date is clickable, click it.  It will open to a new page with all the newspaper clippings I had gathered up for the particular date.

Hopefully you wll find a few things you are looking for in their.  If you need a different year or date let me know.

If you find your stuff in their, post us the dates you found it in matching your stuff.   To be very honest I only read briefly the stuff.  I dont think I read one single article in their fully for what I jsut uploaded.  Good reading material to possibly understand some of the promoting going on and how Goldie becames matchmaker, and some comments dealing with Turner.

http://superstarbillygraham.net/cities/washington/index.html

That is the main index page for that site.  As stated if something isnt their you want, let me know and i will upload it.  I havent touched this site in a long long time.  I have tons and tons of stuff to scan over and upload for years and years.  I just do not get motivated enough to do that site more, from when i researched it out about 4 to 5 years or even more ago.

Thank you very much.  I'll see if I can match up some dates and I'll post what I find.

Not to threadjack here (which of course means threadjack)

Ron, I was looking on your Washington DC page for 1963 results on the link you posted. Most of the stuff was taken down or dead links. Did you take it down or are the links just broken? Also did you get my pm I sent you on this sight about 2 weeks ago about New York newspapers.

End of threadjack...sorry.

I never really fixed anything with it since it was hacked...  when was that?  2 years ago to 3?  What ever the time period was, no one mentioned it or said they missed it, so I left a lot of it as it was.  I had fixed a lot of stuff, but never finished it.  Figured no one was interested in the D.C. stuff so why put the effort into it.

And yes I did get your message.  The information was helpful for my next trip out.

I just look at 1963.  Yep lots of stuff missing.  That year did not have the results uploaded to it i do not think.  I think I was really lazy for that year and was being in a odd mood and just uploaded the match listings instead of including the results, just so I could  be a dick. Because everyone was telling me they already had the D.C. stuff for years and years of results.   lmao
