6/9/85...Karl Steiner was a Canadian guy who never worked Mid South. Rick Steiner does not seem to have started there until November 85..so who was this guy?

Karl Steiner is a mistake. It should be Carl Styles. He was in Mid-South as a prelim guy for a while in mid 1985.

Back to that 6/9/85 card in Tulsa, there was an angle on TV with Terry Daniels standing at attention to honor America and military veterans for the entire television show while wearing his marine dress blues. The Dirty White Boys then interrupted and mocked the entire ceremony, with Len Denton and Tony Anthony ripping the uniform while beating up Daniels. Bill Watts was furious and this created the reason for him to come out of retirement to team with Daniels against the DWBs. In some cities the promotion used Sgt. Slaughter as the partner of Daniels instead of the Cowboy. Daniels getting used as a sacrificial lamb to bring in Sarge was done in more than one promotion back then. It gave Daniels more of a career than he probably warranted. I think Watts even noted on TV that the DWBs had been draft dodgers who went to Canada rather than serve, which was ridiculous since they'd have been far too young to be in the military during the Vietnam War. But if that happened, when have the facts ever gotten in the way of a good wrestling angle.

It looks like Sgt. Slaughter only worked one date for MSW in 1985. June 1 at the Superdome in New Orleans, teaming with Daniels against the DWB's
