I am thinking that around the same amount as Andre. Lost to Graham and lost to Koloff. I believe he lost some tag match pinfalls to the same guys and maybe even Spiros Arion. But pretty few I believe.

Pretty sure he did the job in a tag match with Dick the Bruiser against the Valiants to drop the WWA Tag titles while he was WWWF champ.  Not sure if Vince Sr. approved of that but it was Dick's territory and he didn't lose there.

Edit: Doesn't say who pinned who but I really think Johnny pinned Bruno in that first match.  Don't know about the second.

  • WWA (Indianapolis) World Tag Team titles Jimmy & Johnny Valiant defeating Dick the Bruiser & Bruno Sammartino (January 5, 1974);
  • WWA (Indianapolis) World Tag Team titles Jimmy & Johnny Valiant defeating Dick the Bruiser & Bruno Sammartino (February 7, 1974);

    I think Ray Stevens may have pinned him Big J. I think that maybe even Baron Mikel Scicluna holds a pinfall win over him.

    I'm gonna have to invite Lee Wong aka Wong Lee here. He's a Bruno expert. Bruno was pinned several times only to have the decision reversed. Foot on the ropes for leverage. Stuff like that. In between his WWWF Title reigns, Bruno did a job for Waldo Von Erich. Not sure if it was a pin.

    Before he won the WWWF Title the first time, Bruno lost matches to The Crusher, Lou Thesz, Buddy Rogers and others. I'm sure some of them were by pin.

    And then we have the Ray Stevens match from San Francisco. Stevens pinned Bruno in one of the falls. The third fall was a countout victory for Ray.

    As you can see Bruno was not scheduled to wrestle but was at the comentaors desk. And then this was for the line up for June 3, 1965 from a separate newspaper also reporting basically the pin fall loss that Bruno took.

    Here's a couple I have that were definitely outright pinfall losses or Bruno lost a fall by pinfall in a 2 out of 3. Not counting tag matches.

    June 15, 1960 - Montreal, QC - The Forum

    L Killer Kowalski

    November 3, 1961 - White Plains, NY - Westchester County Center

    L Buddy Rogers

    Dec. 17, 1961— Steubenville, OH. - St. Johns Arena
    L Crusher 1-2

    January 12, 1962 - West Hempstead, NY - Island Garden

    L Buddy Rogers

    February 10, 1962 - Sunnyside, NY - Sunnyside Garden

    L Buddy Rogers

    November 28, 1962 - London, ON

    L Johnny Valentine

    December 14, 1962 - Toronto ON - Maple Leaf Gardens

    U.S.Heavyweight Title Match (Toronto)

    L Johnny Valentine (title changes hands)

    Harley Race also took a clean fall off Bruno in their 1 hour draw in St. Louis for the NWA strap in 1973.

    Waldo and Tanaka also took pinfalls during Bruno's first title reign but it was the old foot on the rope behind the refs back while the crowd is screaming at the referee but him being a referee he was too stupid to understand so poor poor Bruno had to be stressed because he thought he lost the belt for a few minutes until pure goodness eventually triumphed.

    I'll look up those dates and post them.

    LOL @ the Bruno expert showing up and ripping Bruno in his first post.

    Funny stuff (and welcome WongLee)

    Georgiann Makropolous put out a Bruno "results book" ~ I thought I had a copy but couldn't find it last night when I looked for it. I am thinking Bruno may have even done a job for Bull Ramos.

    Another welcome to Wong Lee. I needed his help with the Bruno stuff so I invited him here. I also invited Mark James aka mj99 the Memphis expert today.

    Wong Lee has given me a ton of Los Angeles territory results. He's the man and he even motivated Yohe to share a bunch more stuff.

    I would love to see a Bruno Sammartino record book.  I am sure I could add probably a 100 matches that no one else has for him.

    Thanks for the welcome guys, I truly appreciate it.

    I gave Vance Nevada a ton of Bruno results I had from 1959 - 1961 as he had said he was working on a Bruno career record but I don't think it ever got much further than that. I have the same problem like Ron in that I have tons of stuff laying around to compile but I just haven't had the time to put it together past 1961. Like any good results geek knows, you go into a total frenzy for 6 months at a time putting together close to a thousand pages on one territory or another or one wrestler or another and then you suffer TOTAL burnout and don't do dick for 3 months. :D

    In those losses to Valentine did their noses ever touch?
