Great season and an even better postseason.  There were some dramatic wins but this was closer to 1998 than 1996 in that they seemed to have things pretty well in hand throughout.  It's been a long road back and I'm very happy for the guys who just won for the first time, which is actually quite a few of them.  I think I'm done with baseball for a while after this marathon season.  I can now resume my life, at least until March.

I was surprised Matsui was MVP. I would have bet money A-Rod would get it.

Just an amazing year.  The bullpen was great tonight, just picking each other up.  Marte, of all people, was unbelievable.  6 straight strikes to Utley and Howard.

I am so spoiled watching Rivera close games.  It's going to be a sad day when he retires.

27 times world champions? Wow.  They must have done well to beat all those Japanese and Cuban teams so often.

A-Rod didn't do anything in the World Series.  Matsui went 8 for 13 (.615) with 3 homers and 8 RBI.  Damon was the only other possibility on the offensive side, but he left the game in the 3rd due to injury tonight while Matsui had a monster game.  Rivera could've won the MVP too, as he can win the MVP every year.  He's just not human.

Congrats to the Yankees.

Pitchers and catchers report in probably around 90 days.

Pitchers and catchers were told to report tomorrow morning since the season ran so long.  They gotta get back into game shape quick.

Not even worth commenting on.  The top talent from those countries are here (except for a handful of Cubans good enough who haven't defected and a handful of Japanese good enough who haven't reached free agency yet, but that's not a whole lot) and American rejects go there after their careers end.  It's a stupid statement by someone who's never seen a baseball game in the first place.  This isn't fucking soccer.

Congrats to the Yankees.

But I have to say I really miss the days when American League teams like the Royals, Blue Jays, Orioles, A's, ect. had a fighting chance each year to go to the World Series. It's really starting to become boring for the rest of us baseball fans when it's the Yankees or Red Sox every year in the playoffs and or World Series. Last year was a little more fun because of the Rays.  I respect the Yankees but I lose more and more interest in the post season when it's the same teams every year...well at least in the American League. At least in the National League there is still a little more parity....but that's starting to become a thing in the past as well as large markets teams are starting to dominate there as well. I hate to say salary cap...and that might not be the answer...but something needs to be done so more teams have a chance to make the playoffs/World Series every year.

Yeah, must be nice to be able to buy a WS title? Yeah, Milwaukee and other small market teams "have just as much of a chance to sign these guys as the Yankees/Boston/Dodger's do"...Uh huh sure...Pittsburgh makes enough to sign maybe a mid level guy, not enough to field a team of fucking AS's like the Yankme's do every fucking year?

In the last 20 years the AL East has proven to be the dominant Division by far

AL East - 9 world series

NL East -  3 world series

NL Central 1 world series (Cards would have been an NL east team prior to wild card)

AL West - 3 world series

AL Central - 1 world series (White Sox would have been AL West prior to wild card)

NL West - 3 world series

I agree, and I pull for the Yanks each time they make it to the World Series.  I hope they or them and another team just keep winning the WS year after year.
