I think the Giants are going to win a close game against New England by a field goal.

Allow me to be the first to tell you that you are crazy.

Only way the Pats lose is they get out coached. Aint happening.

Beej, did you feel the same way about Dallas & Green Bay ?
The Giants are in a zone, where they can do no wrong.
I'm not saying the Giants will win, but how many people thought
they'd get this far ?
I'm waiting for a few days before I send in my picks, in case
some one gets injured or shot in a strip joint.

Dallas and Green Bay were nowhere near as good as their regular season records indicated. Comparing them to New England or almost every other AFC playoff team is apples and oranges.

The Giants got hot and beat two wildly overrated teams. Nice accomplishment, but this has become like mid 80s-mid 90s AFC.

More like entire 80s to mid-90s AFC.

I'd agree, but the Raiders won 2 Super Bowls in the early 80s.

Can I steal a line from Bobby Heenan?

Comparing New England to the NFC teams is like comparing ice cream to horse manure.

I still think the Pats can be beaten.

I agree.

Krazykid is spot-on on the Giants.

Oh, I agree, but I think there close scares against teams like the Ravens were games that they played flat.  Every team encounters these games during the season.  I just do not think the Pats are going to come out flat for this game.  I can hope and wish, but I think they are going to come out guns blazing.

Your facts have no meaning to me.

I agree. You must also factor in the "Favre factor". Brett, as great as he is and has been, has single-handedly lost more games than any other player in NFL history.

Brett did exactly as Brett does and turned into an idiot, rookie QB with a good arm in the last quarter (plus the very end of the 3rd) of that game. I didn't think the Packers could make it simply because I would have been SHOCKED if Favre didn't start chucking up ridiculous throws toward the end of a big game.

With that said, the Giants are hot and have "a shot", but new England is on a whole other level than GB or Dallas. The Giants will have to bring their best game of the season AND hope the Pats are off.

Your last paragraph, Bayou, makes perfect sense.

The beauty of a Giants win would mean that the Dolphins undefeated record is broken (the Pats beat it by one) and Boston is not celebrating a second title this year.  I still hate Boston even though I like Brady (Michigan QB) and Belichick (he'll always be a Giant to me).
