Let Ohio State gain the number one by default.  They are tough.

Let the GA Bulldogs by BCS travesty oppose them in the game.

I look forward to a repeat of the 2006 Title game, as the Bulldogs would run circles around a much slower Ohio State team.  Don't believe me?  Wait until 1/8/08.........

I believe either Georgia or LSU would trounce Ohio St.  The SEC gets to proclaim its dominance once again.

We all just need to realize there is no national champion this year. It's just a battle to see which two teams play in the last game of the season.

GoneFishing had a good analogy of this bowl scenario earlier.

I cannot believe that some people are proclaiming that Hawaii should be in the National Title game.  Being undefeated is one thing, but if they played in the SEC they would have lost at least 5 games.

Is Hawaii better than Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, or Kentucky? That's just the SEC East good teams.

How about LSU and Arkansas is the west?

Sorry to correct you. HBF. You are an SEC fan, so I'm sure you just made a simple error, but I have to point out that Auburn is in the West, too. They are LSU's main rivalry. Each tema has one team from the other division that they have a traditional relationshio with, who they play each year. Auburn and Georgia are paired up, as LSU and Florida are, so those teams play every year, despite being in different divisions.

But your point is well made. Hawaii has the 119th strength of schedule out of 119 teams.

LSU and Georgia both beat numerous ranked teams. You listed Georgia's top ranked opponents, and LSU plyed the same teams, plus Va Tech.  UGA and LSU definitely had the toughest schedules out of the teams that are up for the other spot in the title game.

You could also add OU & Missouri to that list that would deestroy Ohio State. The last few years have shown that the Big 11 is just to slow to compete w/ the elite teams of the Big 12 & SEC.

Truth be told I think a healthy WVU would give Ohio State some real issues as well.

It looks like it will be the Bayou Bengals versus Ohio State. LSU is number 2 in the USA Today poll, with Oklahoma at 3.

If the Harris Poll comes out the same way, LSU will get the nod.

LSU got it in the AP, as well, but the AP Poll is no longer affiliated with the BCS.

GA got fucked but having not won the conference title, I expected it.  They will be one of the top teams next year, as almost everyone returns.

I am a BIG LSU fan right now!  Go Tigers!

I cannot pull for LSU because Les Miles is a whiny bitch.

They had two chances to be number one and blew it. Georgia's arguably the hottest team in the nation.

I don't understand how Georgia fell to #5 in the BCS after being #4 last week. Two teams above them lost and they still fall one place?

Missouri was screwed the worst of anybody. They were #1 this week, lost to a very good Oklahoma in a conference championship and are out of the BCS bowl picture entirely. Kansas, who lost to Missouri and had just about the softest schedule in the world is in.

I totally agree about the Bulldogs falling while the teams above them lost makes no fucking sense at all.  It's bullshit.  I take solace in the fact that we now know that next year they are THE team to beat.  Stafford and Moreno come back along with that entire OL, and they may even get a WR who can catch in the meantime.  This may be the most formidable Dawgs team in their history for 2008.

And you may wonder why I root for LSU?  I have been a Michigan fan since I'm 5.

I'd be pulling for Georgia big time too, if they had made it. I definitely see the beef in UGA falling, but i think it should be the conference champions for sure. I'm an LSU fan, but I'd see it the same way if the roles were reversed. I don't mean to put UGA down, but just as you can say LSU had two chances and blew it, so too did Georgia blow 2 chances to get into the SEC title game. That's why, when both are 2 loss teams and have played basically the same schedule without ever playing each other, I think you have to go with the team that played, and won, that extra tiltle game.

If UGA had played and beaten LSU head to head, their argument would have gotten a hell of a lot stronger, IMO. As it was, they didn't play,  LSU beat Tennessee in the SEC Title game, and the Tigers also had the bonus of a big win over Va Tech, who was right there in the mix as well. I admit to being a huge LSU fan, but I really do think they made the right choice. I honestly would say the same if it was the other way around.

Center Fernando Velasco graduates as well as another lineman whose name I can't remember. There will be two more freshmen next year. One or both will be redshirts. And hopefully one of those is a local kid.

It's hard to say Georgia blew their chance. Tennessee won their way in on a tiebreaker and almost lost that opportunity twice with a late win over Vandy and an overtime win over Kentucky. Georgia has not lost (or really come close) since the loss to Tennessee.

LSU also had two conference losses, but made it in because the SEC west was even weaker than usual this year.

You say Georgia lost to Tennessee who lost to LSU. LSU lost to Kentucky who was handled by Georgia. You do have Virginia Tech, but you also have an Arkansas whose best passer is Darren McFadden. I will, though, also grant you South Carolina.

At least I have still have Valdosta State, who is one win away from the D-II national title game.
