Looks like they are getting ready for life without Ben.

They're getting used to playing the first 2-4 games without Ben and don't want to rely on 100 year old Batch and a relatively unproven Dixon.

I heard on the radio from the Steelers reporter who has the most access with the team that the Steelers are basically making Ben sweat with the trade rumors. If you really look at them, it's all other teams floating offers and not the Steelers shopping him around at all. Bottom line, they aren't going to trade him, they just want to bust his balls for a while and make him think he'll end up on a shit team like the Rams.

I don't care that it's a 7th round pick. You have to be completely desperate to want Byron Leftwich.

When Jacksonville dumped him I thought they were crazy. Then I saw Leftwich play. They weren't crazy. He has nothing in the tank. Batch probably has more left at this point.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is turning up the heat in this new article.

I also do not think Ben is going anywhere.  I like the Leftwich singing; Batch should have hung it up by now, and Dixon is still very raw, despite what some of the Black & Gold faithful are saying.

He still had a hell of a rifle when he played with the Stillers two seasons ago.  His mobility is not the best, but Batch is fragile like an antique ceramic vase with a crack in it.

That's exactly why they made the deal, Leftwich has worked the system before and should only need a refresher, and Batch can shatter at any time.

If they didn't make a deal and Batch gets hurt, the Steelers would be fucked with a capital F.

He looked terrible with the Falcons in 2007. I was happy when they signed him but when they gave him the ball, he couldn't move at all and couldn't hit his targets. Perhaps he was out of shape that season or perhaps he didn't care. The Falcons as a team sure didn't that year.

Leftwich is 1,000 times better than shitty Batch. Hell, I'd fucking sign Ryan Leaf and make him a starter, before I made Batch one. He's GARBAGE(Batch)...I know...he stunk for the Lions......and couldn't stay healthy.

Anyone have Jeff George/Scott Mitchell's #?
