Who do you feel was the better pitcher? I feel this is an easy one with perhaps the most overrated pitcher of all time and one of perhaps the 5 best pitchers of the last 75 years.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'll go with the one who wasn't on the juice.

So you're abstaining?

Juice or no juice, its a slam dunk. Clemens.

I have Clemens as my 2nd all-time greatest RHP ever, behind Christy Mathewson. Ryan comes in at number 12.

I would tend to believe Ryan was on the juice too. Can't prove it, but his stats got better in the late 80's than the mid-80's and that's questionable.

As far as a body of work, I'd take Clemens.

Clemens by a narrow margin. The Walks tilted the vote to Clemens.

Clemens and it's not even close.

Ryan.  He accomplished so much on far worse teams than Roger played on.

I agree, by the way it's Ryan who I was referring to as overrated.

I'd take: Maddux/Schilling/Morris and Ryan long before i ever took Clemens.

Huh? only 2 of his no no's came past 1990. Ryans career era is 3.17...Clemens is 3.12..not much of a difference. Ryan was still throwing close to 100 @ 42.

Clemens seemingly got "better" as he got older. Plus, Ryan was never on the DL...nor took the juice. Ryan was a workhorse..Clemens? had to take juice to stay competitive, and still be effective.

No way I could pick Clemens. I don't know how long he was on the juice.
