Who the fuck is Boomer Esiason and why does he still think he is relevant? Personally I hope the kid feeds all of his critics a big fat shit burger.

Former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason didn't mince words when asked of his impression of fellow lefthander Tim Tebow.

"He can't play. He can't throw," Esiason said at a CBS press event on Tuesday. "I'm not here to insult him. The reality is he was a great college football player, maybe the greatest college football player of his time. But he's not an NFL quarterback right now.

"Just because he's God-fearing, and a great person off the field, and was a winner with the team that had the best athletes in college football, doesn't mean his game is going to translate to the NFL."

The Denver Broncos were attempting to trade quarterback Kyle Orton, but elected to keep the veteran in camp. He will be the team's starter, and Brady Quinn has been getting the second-team reps while Tebow has been relegated to third on the depth chart.

Critics have said Tebow still needs to refine his mechanics and learn how to play the position at the NFL level.

Tebow won a Heisman Trophy at the University of Florida, where he was a run-pass threat. He ran for 227 yards and six TDs in three starts as a rookie last season but completed just 50 percent of his passes.

how is what he said ripping into him?  Everything he said is 100% correct.

The guy is an analyst for CBS, he gets paid to give his views, and what he said is correct

This.

He's not saying anything that everyone else isn't saying, and what the Broncos are slowly starting to realize.

As for who Boomer is to critique...he's someone with a huge amount of experience at the position, who won an AFC Championship and took his team to the Super Bowl.

Yeah, sounds like he's just giving an honest assessment as he sees it. And Boomer was a damn good QB for several years.

" Boomer Esiason rips into Tim Tebow"

That was the title of the article, Not my words. To say he can't throw or play is a bit of an exageration don't you think? If he could do neither he wouldn't be in the NFL. I'm not saying that the kid is gonna be a star, but I think this is a stretch.

Yeah, it's a only a bit of a stretch though.  He can't throw accurately all that often, as the article states, he has just a 50 percent completion average.

sure he made 50% of his passes last year, and threw for 5 TD, but from what people who have been watching the Bronco's this preseason have stated over and over, he isn't even in line to be the #2 QB and has not really impressed anyone at camp at all, which is what he needed to do.  Also remember, Denver was gonna ship Orton out and insert Tebow, then suddenly changed their minds, because they saw Tebow is not close to being ready to be a starter.

Denver should give up on him as QB and shift him to another position where he can easily thrive

Giving up on a 2nd year guy that was drafted as a project is ridiculous.

You mean a bruising running back, ala Alstott? Despite being the pro-bowl fullback all those times, he rarely lined up at fullback because he couldn't block worth a shit. He was a runner. He was either in a split backfield, was the set back, or the running back in the I formation with someone else at fullback.

Considering the Bronco's front office seems to have given up on him as QB, they might as well try something else with him

If they've "given up" then they deserve at least a decade of suck.

The Broncos fell for the hype, between ESPN sucking Tebow's dick in college and evangelicals sucking his dick because he wore Bible verses on his eye black and did pro-life commercials with his mom he was able to fool them into thinking he could be a pro caliber QB.  Practically every scout in the league had him pegged as maybe a serviceable backup at best, but for some reason Denver felt they had to grab him early.
